part of me still thinks that protos are leaked though, all it does for hasbro is create an incredible buzz for a new toy, and it doesnt even mean that the toy is gonna get made

And that's the best reason why Hasbro and Takara DON'T leak them. If they don't get released, why should they "leak" them in the first place?

 

Takara preview protos in Japanese magazines.

 

Hasbro present them at ToyFair or BotCon.

 

They don't have some obscure dealers in Hong Kong sell 20+ test shots of each new toy.

all companys, GOVERNMENTS, post offices, bakers, CANDLESTICK MAKERS leak information. Either as a way of insider revenge, or getting past normal protocols of information distribution (PR!)

I am starting to think that HasTak is cracking down because of KO potential if this figure is not to be released. I don't think people who have bought prototypes before are in danger. Unless HasTak whines like Metallica that people are ripping them off at some weird exponential rate, props to those who got prototypes they wanted!

I am fully aware of Dylan's feelings on bootlegging.

And the reason he is one of the most bootlegged artists ever is because of consistant unsurpassed quality of his music (boo all you want - hes a genious)

 

Thats why i specifically used my collection as a parallel.  Cause i know that in his eyes -its wrong

 

However - my collection hasnt prevented me from purchasing every official album he has ever made, and paying for tickets to see his shows.  Even complete gibberish like "Dylan and the Dead" i paid money for that.  But then i also got my self a disc of the other performances, from that tour, some of which are actually listenable - some extremely enjoyable.

 

I would feel differently if i had paid for the bootleg and then passed on Dylan's official release.... but i didnt and i havent.  In fact his current "Bootleg Series Vol.5 now" is proof that he realizes that these shows are worth releasing and people will pay him for this music.

 

Now - on topic - transplant everything i said about dylan to BT/Alts

I am sure that GenZero and Jaguartron are still going to buy and Alt and a BT --putting their total investment into this $20 toy at something close to: $210

Now call these boys silly if you like BUT - Hastak really looses nothing here.....

:eek If the bottom pic is how he is supposed to look then that was one epic mistransformation. Now he looks like a cross between Prowl, and Hound. I like it.  :thumb Thouugh I also like Prowl to be the same couldn't be said/done for his lower body transformation.

 

The top pic is Energon Demolishor all over again.  :puke

 

I don't mind him being Alt Ironhide, but I'm hoping for Skids seeing as these have been rumoured to mostly be blue. :thumb

As pathetic as those transformations are, they show different shots of how the robot parts fit together, so they're informative, at least.  Hee hee.  It confirms this guy really IS pretty remarkably-engineered.

Yeah, the fact that the hood can fold down like Prowl probably means that is how he's supposed to be transformed (especially since his head can't pop up through an opening in the hood like the rest of the non-Prowl chest-formers).

Ebay is not going to be able to permanentaly keep them off their site, unless they disallow people from using the term "prototype" in the auction title.

 

Otherwise they will likely do a weekly or monthly audit of the auctions.

Did some one write this already? Maybe hasbro wanted to stop this auction because the seller obviously isn't a TFan. no skills. They could have atleast used the other autions as example.
