Maybe Hasbro is Sick of us not being surprised when they announce a new figure that we already know about. Or they could be sick of us passing judgement on an inferior unfinished product.

Yea its kinda like one of those things you put off and never get around to. Hopefully this isn't the end. maybe they will show up on yahoo auctions or some other place... Or even that one in the TFans ad rotation? It would be neat.

 

I always put it off, buying one of those protos with the clear/black/unpainted parts. I have bid on them before but never won. I did win a painted proto a few years ago. No one would be able to tell it was a proto (it looks exactly the same as the finished toy AFAIK) but I won it before the toy was released anywhere or in package pics appeared.

 

That kinda sucks and I always wanted to make up for it by getting an unpainted proto, especially since I will be making some extra money in a couple weeks.

Hasbro own the intellectual property to officially released Transformers products too, but I doubt they would ever crack down on eBay auctions for officially released Transformers products.

I fully understand the moral disagreement against people like Jaguartron buying protos - There is the same argument regarding Live concerts (I personally own over 200 unofficial Bob Dylan concert recordings).... But my rational on the Moral and business side of things is:

I would feel bad about Dylan -if i did NOT have every official release.

Simmilarly - If Jaguartron is still buying every Alt (and maybe multiple copies of each for customizing or MISB or whatever) then i cant see how he is hurting Hastak at all....

 

I want to make clear that I am using Jag- as an example only, and I do understand that Hasbro has the right (obligation even) to be outraged.

 

And my views on the ebay sellers are "meh" ther are worse crimes than stealing a Toy...

 

But really i cant pass any judgment on a fan who wants to "own a proto"

(FWIW - i "stole" one of Bob Dylan's Setlists that the band tapes to the stage so that they know what songs to play on a given night... have i hurt him? am i a crimminal?)
