Alternators Thrust

The paint apps look great!  I agree with most, that maroon would have been a better color for him.  But the thing I see is that the bot mode doesn't really look like Thrust, except the the head :thumb.  IMO if you just paint the silver parts black, it would be much more Thrust like.

Also, I think that's a good mold for the seekers.  I still prefer the Tracks mold.  But TFMaster made a really nice Starscream (Streetscreamer) and Skywarp (Roadwarp) out of Silverstreak.  And if memory serves correct, someone even made a maroon Thrust, but I don't remember who (curses, no search button!!).

Another thing I noticed was the decal on the arm.  It looks a bit off center and sticking over the side.  Might want to fix that.

keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to 6 more.  :thumb

edit:  I'm an idiot, VP made the Thrust, it's over in the Kitbash gallery at Transtopia.

Well I am not going for G1 accuracy, just an allusion of sorts.  To me, that is what I like about the line: the fact that it is built upon past generations of TFs, but they are still new and different.  But yeah, I am going to look at adding just a touch more black to him (see one of my previous posts).  This one is just kind of getting me started back into repainting and such since my last one was Hot Pursuit in early January.

Again, part of my reasoning here is the price/availibity of molds.  I like the Tracks mold too (I need another Tracks head too!).  Right now I am making Skywarp out of the Smokescreen mold.

. . . and a part of me wants to play the toy superhero and rescue some of those shelf-warmers!  Give an Alt a home!

The print quality of those decals isn't up to par with my usual standards.  I am waiting on a new color ink cartridge (see previous post).  Basically I just wanted something to cover up the bot symbols.  Conversely, the license plate covers (front/back) turned out well I thought.

Thanks for the feedback man!

Just curious, when you say you can get a lot of this mold cheap, how cheap are you talking about?  K-B stores around me seem to have reduced what Alts they have to about $13, which is not bad.

My mother-in-law can get them at the KayBee Outlet near her for $13 each and a second for half off.  Sweet deal!

whoh! KB is having that sale again... time to go back.

FIrst off, your paint application looks very smooth. So from a technical standpoint I have nothing to say other than GOOD JOB  :thumb

As far as getting a more solid THRUST look. You've indicatd that you would prefer to make him red as opposed to Maroon. Ok...thats cool. Another unfortunate factor for thrust is that he was a cone head, and using this mold there is no really easy way to make him such. You could give him a removable dunce cap or something, but I don't think it would work very well. I think your best bet at refining his homage feel without compromising what you want is this:

#1 Make him look MORE Decepticon. Make the shoulders and legs black.

#2 Make the crotch red or black and add silver highlights.

#3 YELLOW EYES! Thrust was one of the FEW Transformers to have yellow eyes. He was also the ONLY seeker to have them, so it will allow for him to be more easily distinguished.

Can't wait to see the rest :thumb
