PS:  I also like the designs of Chrysler's latest offerings the most out of the Big Three.

 

Convieniently enough, it also happens that Freightliner is part of DaimlerChrysler - which is good for Optimus (since he was originally a Freightliner).  Ha, we could even have Bumblebee be a SMART if the VW is out.

I'm just worried that they are going to keep so much of the old school in, it's going to come off as ultra-ridiculous and cheesy.

I must say that I am sick of certain characters having to be defined by alt modes that they had twenty years ago,  as long as the character is still themself in personality and face, I'm happy.

 

For example, I don't want Prime to be a flat faced cab.  Their ugly, and are rarely used anymore, I have seen ONE in the last several years, and I used to work at a truck stop.

 

I don't want Soundwave to be a mass-size shifting musical device, not because I have a problem with mass-size shifting, but because in a live action movie, I just don't see it looking belivable.  Also, casstte players are outdated and obsolete, and I think Ravage and Lazorbeak will look stupid as CDs.  I'd rather see him keep with the Decepticon's military theme in the movie.

 

Ratchet, I'm a bit neutral on.  He just wasn't a favorite of mine.  A Firetruck is not my first choice, but I do think it would look a heck of a lot cooler on screen than an Ambulence (ugly things that they are.)

 

Jazz and Bumblebee, need more info, but I don't mind at all if they can't get BB as a VW bug.

 

Arcee, not my first choice, or second, or 14th. But they seem to want to broaden the range of the viewer audience.  Adding a Fem does make sense from a producer stand point.  Making her a Motorbike is good to help draw in the kiddies, since they would recognize the character more from Energon, whom I'm hoping they base her character off of, rather than the 2D character from G1.
