I personally don't really care how much the movie differs from G1. I mean, G1 was well and good and all, but I want something new. All I ask is that the movie is good. I am a little disappointed that Soundwave will mass-shift though, because I was really hoping he would be some kind of military communications vehicle or something.  I mean, even if he shrunk from a huge robot to a regular cd or mp3 player, the toy would be weird because you would have a music player the size of another toy's car mode.

An interesting point about Arcee. Hasbro had previously stated that Arcee being a basic sized toy in Energon was influenced by her sellibility. So if she is going to be in the movie, than has Hasbro rethought that idea, or did the toy sell well enough to warrent her in switch limited company?

 

Personally I will probably be in the front row opening night regardless of what happens between now and then. I missed the animated TF TM in theaters the first time. It will not happen this time. I just hope the kids can make room for a nearly 30 year old at that point. :)

I think I need to stop reading spoilers from now on. I'm getting a rumbling in my gut about this movie. I'm still going to be there on opening day, and I will beat the crap out of everyone who cuts in line for it, but I'm just afraid that I might be unjustly influenced by some of the rumors going around.

 

But I'm still glad it's coming...

Someone mentioned that the best part was the timeline given. I couldn't agree more. I will go see this regardless of how good or how bad its sounds. The movie sounds like it will be G1 inpsired, not G1 accurate which is good enough for me.

 

I wonder if the pre-production toy concepts are the reasons for Alternators getting phased out (just a hunch). I guess it makes sense for Hasbro not to have two toys lines based on licensed vehicles.

If memory serves me (and occasionally it doesn't) Alt/BT was never supposed to last very long anyway.  I can't remember the numbers given at the time, but I seem to remember the line was going to be about 12 - 15 figures.  How many are there now?

The movie sucking is very realistic, but it will be interesting to see how people like Speilberg & Bay turn this concept into a live action movie. It will be a Transformers movie, not a G1 Transformers movie. I wonder what other concepts will spin off this regardless of the TF movie failure or sucess...Robotech, Gundam, etc.

 

The most important thing that DM has said is that script changes constantly happen, so don't take what is being said in that movie forum to heart.

It was a rumor. And originally there was only to be 6 molds with one repaint each, so 12.

Alt Jets .... There was an unsubstaniated rumour at one point about Alt Jets and tanks and stuff.  It was proven wrong later. 

 

 

Back on topic though ...

 

There's ALWAYS a chance a movie is going to suck.  Jusst like there's always a chance it will be teh awsumness.  Realistically, until a script is in place, any plot questions are pointless.  It's also way too early in the process to expect character designs or cast. 

 

Although, I'm glad there was no "Is Bludgeon in the movie?" At least, there wasn't in the section I read ....
