Marvel Furman was cool.

 

Furman post-2000 was a cheap rehash.

That's about the way I feel.  Furman's told about every story he can several times over now, and it's getting tired.  I also think he really jumped the shark in G2 with TFs reproducing like friggin' amoebas, then a rehash of Underbase Starscream with a side of hentacle fries, and finally some technorganic-looking retcon fodder claiming to be Megatron's daddy in the last panel.

It's because he can't tell a story without involving Unicron, Primus, and the Matrix somehow. If he could tell a story where he ONLY had to work with the Matrix as an uber-key element, well...I'd have respect for him. But he always brings teh uber-gods into his stories, and it's getting seriously boring at this point. I love Unicron, but Furman obsesses over him...a bit too much, anyway. I just wish he could do a story where he didn't focus on one or two characters way too much and then take elements from 20 years ago and try to turn them into a "new" story.

Read DW's War Within Volume One...no Unicron, no Primus. Just the Matrix as a powerful Autobot key/relic.

Also...Read the UK Comics...he uses many, many, many more things than just Unicron, the Matrix, and Primus.

 

He's just most known and liked for his run on the Comics that deal with his developments on Unicron, the Matrix, and Primus.

 

And DW's War Within Vol. 1-2 doesn't revolve around Primus and Unicron.

You've yet to give me a good reason why you hate Furman so much. You just bought the wrong book. His guide is about the comics. Deal with it.

 

I'm sorry but Furman has never shoved his comics down anyone's throat. NEVER. He does not say in interviews or at conventions that he hates the Cartoon. Nor does he think only Furman-Era Comics are the only good ones. He's praised Budiansky several times for good ideas and stories.

But why should Furman be forced to acknowledge that Fans remember the Cartoon more? Why should he be forced to say the Cartoon is better than the Comics? It's not like he rips the Cartoon apart and calls it Blot in any interviews or statements.

 

It was his job to be a TF creator/writer...He just simply was a writer and the creator of most of the good depths that are in the G1 series.

 

So why hate him just because he doesn't include the Cartoon as the #1 Best Continuity ever in his guide?

Larry DiLitto IS BW contuity. just becuse an OmniDimensional race of Dreadlocked Skulls sounds crazy dosn't mean it isn't cannon

I can understand your dislike of DiTillo, but he did help create a nice TV Show in Beast Wars.

except there's that nasty little detail that DiTillio forgot to factor in: the swarm doesn't eat organic creatures.

 

don't get me wrong, dispite its limitations, i like beast wars as much as the next guy, but DiTillio's poorly researched explanation about the Vok getting accept as official canon leaves a dark stain on an otherwise perfect record.
