Michael Bay On Board To Direct Transformers Film

Recommended Posts

This movie is a comic adaptation. Murphy has stated that it is based on the early Marvel comics.

I remember Don's old posts, and I was under the impression from his posts last year, that the story is heavily influenced by the early Marvel comics (themes, styles, etc...). I don't ever remember him saying it was an adaptatation (a direct retelling) of a Marvel story or storyline. I think it will be "all new," as much as anything in the TF Universe could be.

That's exactly what I meant by that statement. Its based on it, but is not a direct retelling.

Wait a second, is this the same guy that directed Texas Chainsaw Massacre? If he is then I hope it doesn't turn into the abomination that was. Then again I hate all movies like that.

Michael Bay didn't direct "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Marcus Nispel did and he did a decent job considering Scott Kosar's lackluster adaptation of the original screenplay, and the fact that that story is pretty tame by today's movie standards.

Bay was one of 12 various producers on the project, albeit one of the more involved ones.

Sorry I was mistaken then. Marcus, Michael pretty similar, got mixed up. Never saw the original one but the new one was pretty lame, JMO.

Wait a sec, Michael Bay directed Pearl Harbor right?

Yes Bay directed:

The Rock

Bad Boys 1&2

Armageddon

Pearl Harbor

The Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a great movie and well-done for it's time. If you are into old-school horror, it's one of the best.

He did direct "Pearl Harbor," but tried to quit half way through because he knew it was terrible. He was forced to finish it and tried, unsuscessfully, to have his name removed from the credits.

Never knew that.  Can't be good when the director thinks the movie is a steaming pile.

The actors wanted out too. The prodcution of that film was a catastrophe.

Wow, that explains a lot.
