I'm speechless.. both in how it looks.. and the price..

Wanting a show accurate Ultra Magnus is like wanting a show accurate Guardian Headquarters from Go-Bots. The fact that it's show accurate makes it look goofy. (Red and sky blue??? A robot-in-disguise with rocket launchers on his alt mode???)

If looking "goofy" is your criteria for judging TF's then you must have a small collection. I mean most of them have ridiculous paint jobs or alt modes. A Lamborghini Fire Chief car? A dayglo orange planet? Almost every toy that came out in /Armada and Energon? A ton have weapons in Alt mode, and horrific paint jobs. Magnus looks normal compared to most of them.

 

Yes, actually, my collection is quite small. I don't spend money on something just because Has/Tak slapped it in a package labeled "Transformers".

Just add on, the blue on UM is actual blue or dark blue. Not skyblue as you mentioned or like the toy. Secondly, according to UM secret file of Teletran2, his alt.mode is an Amored Transport Truck, so he gotta have that missile launcher. He's not an ordinary car carrier.

 

I personally, think UM has one of the best colors of TFs. Gotta love that red, white, and blue :thumb :thumb

 

Believe me, I rather have the show accurate cartoon as oppose to the red spandex thigh and that white underwear like the toy. I can't stand the toy colors, red spandex? white underwear? He looks so feminine - muahahhaha. I hated whever DW colors him that way. Give me the cartoon color any day.

Though that kitbash is :eek and the creator has invested a lot of time and money into it to give it show authenticy I can't see myself ever buying one. I've already invested over a hundred $s into my 20th OP from TRU and have no ambition/desire to get another one painted as Ultra Magnus with or with out a trailer. So there's no confussion, I'm not bad mouthing the figure or custome trailer. IMO it would be an awsome adidtion in full Ultra Magnus gear next to Optimus Prime but money/space also has to be taken into consideration. Besides I already lucked out with a commemorative TRU Ultra Magnus and though it's a brick it still looks great on display. To hell with the proportions this is all the Ultra Magnus I'll ever need in my collection. :thumb

Coming as a kit does sound like a good idea. I wouldn't mind putting it together myself, although having it pre-assembled would be better.

 

 

Don't get me wrong, I love what Mark was able to do with that trailer and I can understand the price seeing how each one is hand made from scratch, but it simply is too much for my little income.

 

Anyone heard if Takara, Hasbro or that company who is making the MPC 01 trailer will make the Ultra Magnus armor?

I have to agree. I spent a good sum of cash to get MP Prime and I am not going to buy a repaint no matter how well Marks trailer looks or how show accurate it makes Magnus look. Dont get me wrong Marks trailer looks damn good but $750? There is only one MP in my TF collection and thats Prime. Its a simple as that.
