Alt Prowl

Recommended Posts

:pfx dude. Love the head and the more seasoned veteran face. Looks like the face of a leader. Can get used to the auto mode as seeing it in a real aspect puts it into a better light. But the bot mode leaves a lot to be desired. I love the SMOKE-STREAK mold and would have loved to see more of a cumulation of the JAZZ/SMOKE-STREAK mold complete with rocketlaunchers. (I wonder is launchers are ever going to be made available for the ALT line. Got BT SMOKES and this looks more of what I think PROWL should be. Tough as nails extreior with a beautiful transformation scheme.) To me Prowl looks as though they didn't take the time to give more thought at making the perfect homage. I do like the new transformation scheme though but also think it could be used for a different car/character AND be made more beefier. I think that I wouldn't have had a big problem with him if his arms weren't lacking the strength that I think a character like PROWL should look like he has. The gun looks ok...kinda looks like a trusty sixshooter that a seasoned vet would keep at his side. The energon stick I could live without although I'm wondering if there is going to be a holdster on his person that will work with his transformation. I'm definately not liking the head being under the car like it is and all that empty space. I'm not even getting into the legs. lol (don't want to be confused with any of those "flaming fanboys...lol)

In any case I know that this is a first viewing and I may be commenting a little too much but...eh.

BTW...I know I said it bofore in one of these threads but I know HAS/TAK must have sold a few mold ideas to Happywell as well as a few other co's. Theres a reason why we're seeing so much TRANSFORMER "inspired" molds like the Roadbots. I just didn't think we'd see it so soon and so close to the release of the Roadbot brand. In any case, I'm going to try and reserve judgement till I get BT and ALT PROWL in my hands. :tftongue

Yeah, the head and face look sweet. The gun looks like garbage in the photo, but I really do think that once other photos come out we will really see what this bad boy looks like.

MY BOY!

Anyway, I wish HasTak will modified the arms of Prowl before releasing it. From a photo showing the bottom of the car, we can see that there are still plenty of space to hide a stornger arm. Please.

I agree, the arms are pretty tiny.

To me it looks like they attached the arms of another figure just so it would look complete. I believe this is just a simple mock-up so people can get an idea of what it will be like. Its Hasbro's reaction to everyone Starscreaming about all the repaints of late.

Hmmm....Prowl, my favorite character, finally an alternator. I think it will grow on me. I was expecting the Smokescreen-Silverstreak-Jazz-Grimlock-Hound transformation, mainly because he was the one who was prominently remembered for having that transformation. No worries. Just have to see him better posed. All the early shots of the alternators start off a little disapointing, and then they grow on ya. I even brought Grimlock, who did nothing for me in the first few photos....

But at least there's enough homage to identify him right off!

(Fanboy) wish he came in NYC colors! lol

In any case, I was wondering how tall he was in conjunction to the other ALTS at the show. His stilts makes him look a bit tall. Were there any pics of all the ALTS at the show together?

Okay I knaow everybody has said their opinion about Prowl, so I am going to say mine. Firstly let me just say that I like this figure and can't wait to get him. Now just hear me out on this, I have said this before so I'll say it again, this is not a finished product. Wasn't it a couple of weeks ago that they confirmed the Acura picture to be real, and if I'm right they also said that there wasn't a robot yet just a car. So this is just the idea they are showing us, who knows maybe he'll be a chestformer like Smokescreen and the others, ya never know. I mean you guys would think that after the whole Meister Prototype fiasco that we would learn and not jump the gun, but noooooo, I mean It's like we panic at everything we see in these Alternators. One guy sees this and he instantly says the Alternators line officially sucks. Yeah I wanted to see fresh ideas in this line and now we see this and people go into panic mode. You know, the Impreza mold would not have made a good Prowl, It's not realistic enough. What I am saying is that you don't see any Impreza Police cruisers riding around, every country has their own Police Car versions, so the RSX is probably the type you would find in Japan, while here in America we have the Chevy Impala and the Ford Crown Victoria as our Police Cars. I welcome change, and this Prowl Alternator is like a breath of fresh air to me. :thumb
