Alternator Grimlock

Recommended Posts

I'd vote for him to be the hardest to transform Alternator....well, maybe not HARD, but certainly a pain in the ass if it's your first few times.

The ONLY ones that tick me off more are the Subarus and their arms.

Grimmy gets easier every time. Wait till you get Wheeljack... that head just WONT go through that hood. :tfevil Same goes for Shockwave... he just can't be transformed without taking the hood off, at least not by me, anyway. :tflaugh

i had to turn the head 90 degrees to get it through the notch..

i had my grim in robot mode for a week then when i decided to transform him back into his car mode it took me 30 mins. i was soo pissed lol. but yea, it gets easier.. (i didn't look at the instructions... silly me lol) this reminds me of transforming bt01 for the first time... total transformation from robot back to car mode 2 hrs. (darn thing wouldn't line up... anybody remember this prob??)

grim: welcome to the club lol

Actually, I think Meister's arm transformation is great. And the bar that he uses so the wheels both turn the same way is so much better than Smokescreen/Silverstreak.

Ahh, those were the days... I got Sideswipe first, I was originally going to pass on Smokescreen, because I didn't realize that he was based on a real Rally car. (This was before I had discovered these lovely Transformers sites on this here interweb thingie.) I just figured he was supposed to represent the "ricer" culture, where pasting stupid race decals all over your import car makes you cool. But, once I realized that he was based on a real race car, that made him acceptable, although I still didn't like him all that much. I bought him after I found out they were coming out with Hound... after I saw pics of Hound, I knew I would end up wanting to own all of the Alternators, no matter how many came out. And boy, did I have a hell of a time transforming that son of a gun. I almost gave up a few times. I did look at the instructions, but I might as well have been looking at a street map to Istambul... Hasbro's "instructions" suck more than the third Jurassic Park movie. (Which, BTW, I found it amusing that Michael Crichton didn't even want anything to do with that flick...) But anyway, other than Hound, every new mold has been a pretty decent challenge to transform for the first time. That's one of the reasons I love Alternators. :thumb

Ummmmm...that's why I got him. And I'm planning on making my car into one of those "stupid" car culture rally cars. :thumb

I've always thought the BT/ALTS should be geared towards the car enthusiast/adult collector anyway. Hope I never see an Astro mini-van in the mix of these BT/ALTS.

In any case, yes GRIMLOCK was a B!?@# to transform the first time but now that I have a handle of it he only takes a couple of minutes to change. I really hope that WHEELJACK'S head isn't too cumbersome. And hearing about SHOCKWAVE'S head makes me even more disenchanted with him. Hope to have better luck with them and it could be worse. It could be KITTYVETTE'S head coming out of the RX-8'S chassis.

i refered to the bt manual to transform my alt smokescreen lol... i didn't like the hasbro instructions. n from then on i haven't opened my hasbro instructions for any alt. i just kinda guess and look at remy's/invincible toy laboratory pics for reference lol...

used smokescreens instructions the 1st time i got him. load of W@nk. took me 20 mins with them just trying to get the arms right, now it takes me 20 secs. i just didn't even bother with streaks, his instructions are still unopened. i miss the time when they would print the info in letters as well

I actually removed the car doors and fore arms before transforming BT grimlock's arms. i did transform him once attached with those but it almost scared the hell out of me!
