You know, I just realized that this car is a "little red Corvette." Great. Now I'm going to be thinking of Prince every time I see this thing. (I'm not even going to touch the "metaphor" he was going for with that song...)

Maybe instead of a 'bot or 'con symbol, he'll have that wierd thing that Prince changed his name to for a while put on him. And he'll be wearing mascara. The Alternator Formerly Known as Swerve....

OK, this has probably com up before but I'm not gonna sift through 19 pages to check I'm afraid. Wasn't the dead end proto originally red, back when everyone assumed it was gonna be streaker? If I remember it wasn't the same red that sideswipe was and the new parts were red also. I appreciate that the swerve proto looks a lot more 'finished' than the dead end proto with the gold parts and all but is there a chance that this could just be a proto colour? Obviously the swerve number plate suggests otherwise but just a thought. If not then I hope it's a store exclusive.

That Dead End was a prototype, not a test shot, though. (And as we all remember, it had an embossed Autobot logo on it at the time... but that's not important now.) A prototype is just unpainted plastic and is created to make sure everything works right & nothing breaks, etc. A test shot is created to check colors etc., and is painted and has decals applied. It's closer to "final" than a prototype is, basically. If you recall the Meister proto, that thing was all kinds of fugly. Looked nothing like the finished product. If this thing has a license plate decal, I'm guessing that this is pretty much what it's going to look like.

I see, thanks for clearing that up for me. Oh well, Swerve it is then. Is it just me or is the front grille slightly different to the tracks mold?

You know what though? If I hadn't seen a name or faction symbol on this figure I would have pegged it as a Decepticon. The gold accents remind me a lot of Dead End. It just has that look about it. Would I be way off if I thought this might end up as Wildrider or something?

Not as way off as Has/Tak would be in thinking it'd pass off for Wildrider *or* Dead End. :P

Maybe HasTak is trying to remedy thier naming screwup the first go-araound, and we can just switch thier names ourselves.
