Oh yeah...when was the last time DM was in this thread?

When he didn't answer my questions about name rights/trademark issues and foreign distribution of the movie. ;)

I don't have access to a computer the whole time I'm at work, so I can't keep up with you guys in the really hot threads.  Every time I come back to this one in particular, there's like 2 new pages of stuff I would have loved to comment on, but wasn't there.  :tfsad

It sucks, but sometimes you just have to let them all go, and just try to jump back on again :tfsad

Oh yeah...when was the last time DM was in this thread?

Usually I do... with the rare exception here and there. Or i skip out of work for a 2 or 3 hour "lunch" break, just to keep up, if I'm working close enough to home. :D

And Don bailed out on this thread on page 6... over a week ago. :tflaugh

:tflaugh1 . its just kinda ironic that we've just been keeping this thread alive for little reason than our own entertainment.

Just like Mark Hammill is still to this day known as Luke Skywalker, And Harrison Ford is either Han Solo or Indiana Jones, even though he's had a ton of other great movies. Hell, Slash has been in like 5 different bands since G 'n' R, but he's still "Slash from Guns And Roses"... The list goes on... Patrick Stewart is Picard, Bill Shatner is Kirk... and do you think Elisha Wood or Orlando Bloom will EVER escape being known as Frodo and Legolas? Actors (and musicians) always have a hard time escaping thier most well known work...

I'm not debating that, either. John Rhys-Davies is also a very accomplished actor, and has been in countless movies... he was in Indiana Jones, he's played the Kingpin, (long before Michael Clarke Duncan,) he's even done guest voice work on frikking Spongebob Squarepants. He has over 150 film credits to date, but he will die as "Gimli the dwarf." Same with Sir Ian McKellan, Christopher Lee, and the list goes on. Fact of the buisiness is that you invariably have a hard time shaking roles from huge blockbuster films, no matter what your past credits may include. (Sorry for using mainly LOTR examples, but it's a good way of stating my point.)

I agree the whole time on lotr I kept thinking about how the guy playing the elf leader was agent smith in the matrix, because both characters had the same personality. I wanted to see him put on dark sunglasses and say Mr. anderson welcom to Rivendale. LOL :tflaugh oh well

*sigh* Eugene Levy has done a lot more than just "American Pie"... Not that I disagree with you or anything.

So has Jason Biggs... but even according to himself (in Jay and Silent Bob strike back) he's still known as "Pie-F**ker". :tflaugh

Which is why nearly every Bill Cosby impersonation includes something about a Jello Pudding Pop! :thumb :tfevil

Oh man, you're making me cry. Eugene Levy is a frickin' genius who's been around for like thirty years. Maybe all the kids whose balls just dropped only know him from American Pie (or *shudder* "Bringing Down The House" or *double shudder* "New York Minute*) but.... uggh. I mean, that's like saying "oh yeah, I know Bill Murray! He's that guy who did the voice for 'Garfield'!"

BTW, I wasn't dissing The Cos, he's one of my favorite comedians. I don't think him or Eugene Levy has any buisiness in a Transformers movie, though. Just my opinion...

Still interweb friends? :wave

*edit* BTW, sorry for bringing back posts from two pages ago (I've done it a few times in this thread) but unlike most of you guys, I don't have access to a computer the whole time I'm at work, so I can't keep up with you guys in the really hot threads. *waits until now to respond* :D

yes, GZ. Still INTERNET friends. :luv

I guess what I was getting at though is not "he's known for his most popular work" but "no one knows the awesome things he's done and it's sad that they only know him from these lame-ass kids' movies".

BTW I will now be playing the part of Don Murphy, and I will start by answering Nevermore's question:

"Get a life, you toy-collecting dork."

Eh, I never said I was that great of an actor...

Hey guys have we even seen the face yet? I didn`t check on this topic for a couple of days and you guys have it longer than the one about which dinobots came first. And no I`m not trying to start that up again.

Would you be disappointed if I told you that I had no idea what you were talking about?

Can't argue with the fact that Levy is a genius. It's his 'typical suburban white guy' persona that made him so perfect for American Pie, and also why he's about the only thing I found truly humorous in 'Bringing Down the House'. And thanks to that, I was actually shocked when I paid attention to the credits in 'Heavy Metal' for the first time and saw some of the characters he voiced.

Oh, and speaking of Slash.... am I the only one who cringes in horror at the invasion of 80's hair band riffs in otherwise alternative/nu-metal type of music? I swear, listening to 'Fall to Pieces' is excruciating. That song is killer, but then Slash sticks his solos in there, they belong in 'Sweet Child O Mine', not in a song that otherwise sounds like STP all over again.... :puke

Just my little off-topic rant of the day....
