How much more tired could this discussion be?

The answer is "none."

None more tired.

Why does your post sound so familiar to me? Hmm... that's a mystery the authorities decided was best left "unsolved"... :tflaugh

Let's just hope this topic dies in a bizarre gardening accident

Where's bodycount when ya need him. Transformers are Transformers. Get them here get them there, but just get them and shush.

sounds dodgy to me...like asking for proof of OTFCC membership paid by credit card...when probably a large majority of members paid up at the convention, where they were asked to pay in cash

where did you see anything about wanting proof of a membership paid by credit card?

i love when distraught fanboys start making stuff up :thumb

It was in the press release or whatever you want to call it when they announced the club. Rereading it, I see I was only partially accurate - it refers to credit card or cheque. Still doesn't help those who paid by cash as they were asked to do. (see below, I've highlighted the relevant areas).

Distraught? Ha. I don't care either way, honestly. I only collect variants of the original seven minibots, and I'm only interested in G1 anyways (and cartoon only). A TF club leaves me completely cold whether it exists or not. I never joined OTFCC, I never went to any of their conventions. Similarly, I won't join this new club, either. The money I'd spend on it, I could better spend on other things.

New TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club Announcement

To all Transformers Fans:

Hasbro's goal for its TRANSFORMERS Club and Convention has always been to create a fun and exciting experience for TRANSFORMERS fans. We realize that the

convention specifically is a great opportunity for the TRANSFORMERS community to come together. And we are pleased to announce the formation of a new

TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club, which will be run by Fun Publications.

Led by Brian Savage, Fun Publications has a long history with Hasbro,

successfully managing the G.I. JOE Collectors Club and Convention for the past

ten years. His track record and dependability made him an excellent choice to

take over TRANSFORMERS. We are very excited about Brian’s expertise and the new

direction for the club and convention. Brian has a personal passion for

collecting that has already been expanded to include TRANSFORMERS toys and

products.

We are also thrilled that Jon Hartman, Rik Alvarez, Pete Sinclair, Karl Hartman

and Ben Yee have volunteered to take an active role in the new Club, to serve as an "advisory board" to Brian and the rest of the Fun Publications team. These

gentlemen obviously bring a wealth of TRANSFORMERS brand knowledge and

experience to the table and will be working behind the scenes in a variety of

ways.

We invite you to check out www.transformersclub.com for more details in the

coming weeks.

As many fans know, Hasbro has been working to resolve several outstanding issues between collectors and 3H Productions, the former entity running the

TRANSFORMERS fan club and convention. At its own expense, Hasbro has been able

to complete and ship the Sentinel Maximus 2004 convention exclusive toy and the

2003 convention collector plates to customers that had paid for such items

according to 3H Production's records.

We have also been addressing the outstanding issues of the unpublished fan club

magazines, the Skywarp club exclusive figure and Wreckers #4. Unfortunately,

these items were never produced or paid for by 3H Productions, and accordingly,

Hasbro has not been able to fulfill these 3H Productions obligations.

However, since the fan community is so important to us and because we want get

off to a great start with the new TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club, any OTFCC member that can provide us with a cancelled check or original credit card statement

proving their paid membership in the TRANSFORMERS fan club for 2004, will have their membership rolled over to the new TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club for

calendar year 2005. Proof of payment can be sent to TRANSFORMERS Club, Mail Stop B-850, 1027 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02862 by April 15, 2005.

Similarly, for fans that ordered and paid for Wreckers #4 and can supply us with a cancelled check or original credit card receipt we will provide a discount in the amount paid towards membership to the new TRANSFORMERS Collectors Club.

Proof of payment can be sent to TRANSFORMERS Club, Mail Stop B-850, 1027 Newport

Avenue, Pawtucket, RI 02862 by April 15, 2005.

We expect that TRANSFORMERS fans will be as pleased as we are to be working with Brian and his team at Fun Publications. We are thrilled to be able to continue with the convention and collectors club. Stay tuned to www.transformersclub.com

for the club’s upcoming launch.

On behalf of the entire TRANSFORMERS team, thank you for your support. We think

you will like the direction we are headed and hope to have you as part of our

community in 2005 and beyond."

Goodluck with your boycott, as boycotts are generally very successful anyway...

(sacastic voice)

Where's bodycount when ya need him. Transformers are Transformers. Get them here get them there, but just get them and shush.

Well, since ol' BC is teh bannorz, let me see if I can pull it off:

*ahem (clears throat for emphasis)*

:clap Great. Another brickfan whining and moaning about a lack of enthusiasm from Hasbro towards a dead toyline. G1 is dead, and for good reason. The toys were crap. The shows were crap. If you can't appreciate Armada/Energon as the greatest Transformers ever, then you really need to just get out of the fandom. Trust me, Hasbro will do fine without your $20. They won't miss a dime of it. They're a multi-million dollar toy company, and you're a paycheck-to-paycheck fanboy who wishes it was still 1986. Get over it. Nobody on this board gives a crap what you think. You should just admit G1 sucks and be done with it. Oh, now you want to come kick my a$$? I'm 7'9", 375lbs, but does that make me tough? No, this is the internet. I couldn't care less wether you like Energon or not. Either way, you're wrong, because I'm BodyCount. Too bad you can't use food stamps on Ebay, or you'd have your precious Sideswipe brick already. Must suck to be you. Too bad you can't be me... it's great in here.

Carry on, or Carrion. Whatever that's supposed to mean.

How's that? Good enough?

Now, back on topic, I haven't found Sideswipe around here either... I'm still waiting, but I probably will get the Takara version anyway. I have an old beat up original, but I'd like a fresh new looking one, and really, the Takara weapons are more true to the original. But I still don't see a point in blaming Hasbro. I just keep bugging the "smocks" at TRU... "When are you getting the new assortment of G1 Reissues? I'm looking for this one, shown here as series 8, on this series 9 box. You should have it by now, right? Can you look it up in the computer?" Hit them with that 5 or 6 times a week, maybe they'll bug thier manager into actually ordering the things from Hasbro, who obviously has them, if they're out in Canada. :)
