A new TF series means one thing...

Never, ever, ever say things like this. You come across as admitting your views aren't worth spit. Kicked your own argument in the teeth.

It might have 'kicked my argument in the teeth' except that it wasn't an argument. I was stating my opinion. Last I checked, that isn't an arguable point. How would someone on the INTERNET know what my opinion of BW was?

The only reason that was there was to try to stop the "but how can you NOT like BW" side-tracks. And it completely failed. :redface

lets all just hope they limit the human interaction, especially if this series focuses on Cybertron.

To answer the question about Gonzo dubbing their own stuff, the answer is nope. Pioneer(now Geneon) does most of it, but I've also seen some titles released by FUNimation, ADVision, and Bandai(if memory serves.). TF:Cybertron, I believe, is the first Gonzo title that's being dubbed directly to television. All the other titles shown on domestic TV, have usually been released on DVD first.

SOunds about right. Gonzo did a good job with ROD OVAs and FMP OVAs too, lets just hope they stick to what they do best digimation w/strong emphasis on mecha and not on humans.

Oh and if you want fan service in anime, watch GunBuster OVAs! Eva doesn't have crap compared to GunBuster! Gainax created the great "bounce", watch and you will know. Gonzo hasn't done anything that comes close. :tflaugh

As it gets sucked into a black hole at the start of the series that might be tricky.

Although if Armarda and Energon are any thing to go by the entire plot could change half way through the shows run :tfgrin

So far I've seen images of the kids they look older in the teens but still I really don't care for and/or want them playing a prominent role in the new GF series.

IMO Kicker was overly focused on, it got kind of annoying. :redface

I would love to see another TF show that didn't scream anime.

  • I'm tired of the long camera pans, staring contests, and verbose expositions.

See below for clarification. Long story short, they look like very obvious shortcuts. The former concepts do nothing to advance the story and the latter usually gets translated into something foolish or only further aggravates the culture gap.

  • I'm tired of the flashy stock footage being repeated over and over and over.

I could see reusing footage in a traditional animation setting, given all the factors that go into producing it. Doesn't it strike anyone as odd that Optimus Prime has 40 different transforms over the span of American G1 and Aeon couldn't be bothered to change backgrounds or camera angles in either of the last 2 shows?

  • I'm tired of the subpar dubbing trying to shoehorn eastern concepts into every story.

Starscream's struggle with personal honor and the warrior ethic don't mean anything to me. I wonder what it means to kids who don't fully understand the point or can't follow it as it plods along over 52 episodes. Now breaking into a Cybertronian prison to liberate enemies of Megatron and attempt a coup, that's a story I remember 19 years later.

  • I'm tired of the utter lack of humor and for that matter real unique personalities.

It's incredible how many one-liners Marvel put in G1. Prime calling Decepticon infighting a "domestic squabble" in Starscream's Brigade. Sideswipe telling Sunstreaker to just make left turns. Snarl's "excuse me" after crushing the Quintesson guard with the chamber door. Hound's "You mean you shouldn't have _missed_" to Cliffjumper in MTMTE. "We've _got_ to get a new travel agent" "I've get better things to do tonight tha die" "Bruticus...devastate...Devastator" "Roger me , Wilco me, anyone hello hello Earth?!" That's just totally absent in a sea of "yes sir" "no sir" "wait up Kicker!" "here's the plan, we'll attack Unicron" dialogue.

  • I'm tired of the dull and pointless "epic" arcs that squeeze out episodic adventures.

This is somewhat subjective but I miss the self contained adventures of Golden Lagoon, Web World, War of the Dinobots, etc. Even an occasional 2-parter or something wouldn't be so bad. It's these slow moving stories where nothing really happens shown once at week at 6 AM that get to me. The only time I could ever be bothered to watch Dragon Ball Z was when it played an hour or more in a row and even then I'd get tired of waiting and find something better to do the following day.

I would be ecstatic if we got a series that was written here for a western audience, was produced with a moderate level of pride, and balanced some short adventures between its arcs. Cybertron's probably not going to fit the bill but who knows what'll be set in motion by the movie. We'll just have to wait and see...

So far I've seen images of the kids they look older in the teens

bad news for you: if you're refering to Cybertron/GF, the oldest kid is 14.
