I mean volume 2 (collecting loose issues 5-8).

 

I pre-ordered with Amazon UK somewhere in late september, I think. (Could also be early october.)

 

Got an e-mail today from Amazon stating the item wasn't available and they refunded my money.

That may be why. Amazon seems fine on ordering it. Amazon UK probably has to go through its own distros. Seems that those distros are Diamond. So Diamond has to give to Amazon UK before Amazon UK can give to you. Rather annoying to be sure. I guess you can't order from Amazon's US division?

A couple of things to keep in mind...

 

Ben Yee is extremely reliable and wouldn't provide a rumor unless there's some meat to it and it has some relavence to public forums. (A number of artists and writers are board-regulars.)

 

It's the holidays. Offices are closed. Since this 'news' is in very limited circulation (a couple of web-boards, guys, honestly), it's not likely to have hit any powers that be that it's 'out' and needs to be addressed. I don't expect anything until next Monday or so, if there is anything at all.

 

This could mean anything from a simple restructuring, to more 'outside office' work, to closing doors, cancelling titles, or just a really bad falling out with some staff members (which has happened, and is all too public).

 

Anything else, really, is guessing and speculation at this point.

Thats too bad...and to think just 2 years ago G1 v1 #1 was one of the highest selling books ever.

 

If the rumors turn out to be true then I hope DD of Dc get the license. As I would not want Marvel to Brian Micheal Bendisize the license.

I am quite the opposite. I withdrawed from TF's because of their comics. Pretty pictures doesn't make a good comic book. I stopped buying DW books at the end of 2003.

Better get out of that mindset. If it happens now or later, it's inevitable that DW -will- somehow, lose the TF license. Whether DW goes out of business, Hasbro pulls the license, the world ends, or anything in between, eventually a day will come when DW is not doing TF comics.

 

On a less serious note, you're an Aussie anyway. You're 1.5 years behind. After you're done reading G1v2 middle next year, you'll have read everything worthwhile there. ;)

funny... one of my classmates from school went to America for a holiday camp some time ago (between terms 3 and 4), and the other people who went to the camp thought he actually rode a kangaroo to school...
