I think from this line the first one I will try to get is the Optimus Prime. Thats a first for me sense I have never thought of geting the Optimus prime from any line. This goes with exception to MP but I have no budget for that right now.

 

This new optimus reminds me of the old Bandi transforming toys of years ago. Not only did they transform but they had these cool futureistic features to them.

 

As far as seeing optimus as a fire truck (I guess thats what he's supose to be) the alt mode is so abstract in design to make it futureistic that my first impression was that he was a futureist simi truck with some kind of weapons trailer. Sort of like when you mix a tank with an 18 wheeler.

 

I don't really see fire truck (thank god).

 

Anywho this will be my first purchase. And like energon Prime will be out and most likly plentful in wave one due out in the USA in spring.

Megatron = EWWWW (mostly colors)

Totally agree. Going from what I see now, GF isn't that impressive. I'm not particularly euthusiastic about the force chip gimmick either.

I however want Optimus and Starscream and maybe some of the others... but mainly want Nitro Convoy(possibly named Rodimus) and Flame Convoy also.

 

But I heard the rumor that the energon chip on Optimus will bring down the face plate too... any confirmation on that?

 

I don't like Megatron's batmobile car mode though and the color scheme on him! :tfpuke

yeah the face plate can come bown but in hoping you dont need to use the chip

The Energon figs taught me one big lesson, don't judge by pics alone! I wasn't too thrilled at all with the first pics of the Energon figs but soon after getting the first of them I was hooked and now it's one of my favorite lines.

 

So far I love the Optimus, Starscream, and Megs. Accelion and Vector Prime are pretty good and the rest I'm kinda 50/50 on. One thing I'm not happy about is having beasts in it... :tfpuke I'll be hoping for some better things later on down the road in this line.

 

I hope they give us some more gestalts only this time I hope they do a little better of a job in both design and quality. I like the Energon teams but I'm not crazy about the repaint limbs, the quality of the connectors (my CM can't hold his arm up), and a few other small details that I thought could have been improved.

I'm right with ya on the gimmic part. But check out my first post on this thread about my observations of most of the figures. Most seem toooooo easy to transform.

 

I think the only 3 worth looking at is Accilion Prime and Megs (look beyond the colors on him the colors on him).

 

Starscream is the biggest disapointment of all of them cos his head pokes out like a sore tumb in jet mode just like energon ironhide.

I'll probably grab Convoy, Megatron, Starscream, Vector Prime, Dreadnought, and Guard Shell. They look like solid action figures to me. I'm also enjoying the return of hand-held weapons, as opposed to weaponless or Energon wielding figures as per the last several lines. One of my favorite things about some old Generation One figures (Dinobots, to name a few,) was the number of accessories that came with them. Heck, it's part of the reason I like Gundam figures so much.

 

Does anyone have a url for a large, clear picture of Flame Convoy? I've been wanting to see a test shot of him for a while.

Okay Skullfire, while I love the X-men 2099 reference, I'm going to have to take umbrage with your constant insistence that GF Starscream in any way resembles E Ironhide. You can really only see the top of his head, which barely even looks like a head, and he resembles Armada Starscream more than anything (which had the exact same head-thing going on). Ironhide's entire FACE is visible, and the only thing keeping Inferno's face covered is the fact that he's essentially wearing a mask.

which is why I passed on Armada Starscream. I like transformations that are solid no robot parts. Energon Starscream is a good example of what I'm talking about.
