SHOULD I KEEP IT IN THE BOX?

Recommended Posts

Agreed. I never keep anything in the box to begin with, but that's just my thing. The fact is these are not originals. Unless you're going to get some form of delayed pleasure by opening them later, I'm not sure I understand the need to keep them in the box.

As an aside, especially with today's massively produced Transformers, why does anyone keep them in the boxes? The value of a MISB toy is the fact that it never WAS something that the average person would have kept in a box. Somehow I just don't think Armada or Energon figs will be worth that much in 10 years...

Exactly, there are too many hoarders/speculators who keep everything MISB.

What will be worth a fortune in twenty years is the stuff no one thought to keep MISB.

Hasbro Commemerative Series 1:

Optimus Prime

Ultra Magnus

Rodimus Major (Hotrod)

i bought them when the 1st series came out

they've been on my shelf for years now.

im wondering if im making a mistake in just leaving them in there.

Although they are the Commemerative series, will they be worth more in the future?

i need some expert opinions

thanks,

Purple-Bot

I would not open them.

The g1 reissues (or original g1's for that matter) are not really good for display or play value. I would definatly not open them.

You will open them up, look at them and transform them a couple of times and then wish you had kept them in the box. Just my opinion.

open them ,but keep the boxes in mint condition with all parts, then if you want to sell them later you can rebox them.

Oh one last thing everyone who questions not opening toys.

If you are thinking about keeping it in the box to sell it in the future with hopes you'll make some $$$, I suggest playing around with stocks. Much better return if you want cash.

Or become a landlord, or go to college, or some other secondary school to get some special license, certificate, or what have you, and put yourself at the head of the rat race for great jobs! The money spent that way is a much, MUCH, better investment in the long run PurpleBot. :thumb

Take Care,

Armada Sideswipe?

Just so you know, I don't know anything about you, but I was NOT implying that you didn't go, aren't planning to go, or are planning to go to college, etc. etc. etc.

Just wanted to convey that there are better ways at making money than buying toys in the hopes to make a future profit. Leave that up to the job or what not. Toys are for FUN! PERIOD!

You know what I mean, buddy?

Anyways, just my 2 cents worth...

Awww, for friggin out loud...

JUST OPEN THEM, ENOUGH

I agree with some of the above posters. If you want to invest, play the stock market.

If you bought your toys between about 1970 and 1985, keep them in their boxes, because nobody else did.

Now however, everyone else is doing the same thing... but the people who want them have already got them anyway, and things are only worth what people are willing to pay.

So just enjoy them while you can. you never know, you might be hit by a bus tomorrow!

Free them, its just a toy plus others have them to so they will be worth less anyway.
