SHOULD I KEEP IT IN THE BOX?

Recommended Posts

Hasbro Commemerative Series 1:

Optimus Prime

Ultra Magnus

Rodimus Major (Hotrod)

i bought them when the 1st series came out

they've been on my shelf for years now.

im wondering if im making a mistake in just leaving them in there.

Although they are the Commemerative series, will they be worth more in the future?

i need some expert opinions

thanks,

If u have another set open them. If not, just open them. Toys are not to be kept inside a box unless you plan to sell them in the near future.

if your concerned about your investment :roll then keep them shut

but if you collect for fun, open them up :thumb

they are reissues of original toys, they will not appreciate in value like the first ones, open and have fun. You'd have a better chance of them appreciating if you unboxed them and pawned them off as the originals to ebay suckers

i buy/sell/trade toys alot.. this is my personal preferance and my opinion but because those figures are so rare and are valued very high @ toy shows i believe you would make the mistake of opening it... however many people spend 200-300 bucks on stuff @ thse shows then open it... in this case however you only paid regular price... and if you dont have another copy of these toys i suggest u dont open it. go play with something else lol. just box up those toys.. forget they exist... and just remember how much it will be worth later.

edit: double post :tflaugh

Think of it this way, are these the original release of these figures?

No, which limits how much they'll ultimately be worth.

Is HasTak going to reissue these figures again in the future?

Probably, which limits how much they'll be worth even more.

Would you have more enjoyment if you opened them?

Open all Transformers. Espacially reissues, the real value is in the originals.

Well since you never opened them, let me tell you what's in the box:

Three Hasbro-ized G1 figures, featuring:

Circumsized Prime / Magnus! "Breakaway Arms" Hot Rod!

Personally, I think a boxed figure is only as valuable as its contents. And those guys are lame versions of the original figures.

Open the boxes properly; CAREFULLY use a razor or good knife. Bend the flaps with care.

You will enjoy them that much more!

UNLESS, they are not so important to you that you will sell them for $$ in the future. Any TF I buy, I buy knowing I will never sell it because it's the EMOTION AND GENUINE JOY of having it which which is the only reason HasTak gets my money in the first place.

Therefore, I don't need to torment myself with keeping it in the box, because 'so what?' if it's still pristine 20 years from now? You'll be 20 years closer to death and 20 years waisted not holding it in your hands man. Understand that!

Open your toys and let the goodness flow out!

Happy Holidays!!
