First Alternators KnockOffs Sighted

Recommended Posts

actually he DOES stand on the front of the altmode. the grill folds out to become the toes. the only alteration is that the front doors fold down, most likely due to an alteration in the roof construction.

The way the grill works to form toes and heels is the same, but the rest is completly different.

He's not standing on the front of the front of the SUV, the head lights are still there, the top has collapsed over an opening hood. It looks like the front wheels and fenders are now folded underneath.

Too many changes to be based on E-Ironhide, these KO makers just don't bother doing that many design changes.

nooo...blowing the leg up in PSP7 reveals that the base shape of the hood stays intact but that the windshield and door fold lower to make a smoother leg transition. the transformation isn`t all that diferent from Ironhide, just two added swivels. I`ll add the result of my action.

the transformation is similar, but not the same. just as was mentioned already, it's the same as comparing mach alert and tracks' transformation scheme.

be sure to pass on to hasbro that two extra swivels mean a completely new transformation. I can`t wait to see how they`ll use that information on the next three million Armada Sideswipe remolds. :roll

Your giant picture only made it harder to tell. Looking at a normal size photo, you can see the transformation is similar, but not the same.

Well:

1/ Comepetition is always good. If Hasbro wont give us what we want, maybe THEY will. Many of us might get car models we wanted, or carmodes that we can kitbash into our fave characters, etc.

2/ If you paint the Supra in its Castrol racing Colours, what G1 TF does it remind u of? What lame Aalternator is being released soon? All taht is needed is some paint, that Supra and hopefully a head swap (providing the size difference in bot mode isnt too great).

3/ Shame they are not the same scale (biut maybe for legal reasons or production probs they couldnt).

4/ Cant waait to see what else the little bleeders make next!

PS: Here is a castrol Supra:

Could someone digipaint the BOT MODE to tie in with this colour scheme and give it the new Aalternator Wheeljack head...please? Just to see if it COULD look the part?

Couild someone else repaint the SUV black and repaint and put on a repainted Alternator Swindle head on to look like Trailbreaker? PLEAASSEE?

Someone mentioned that prototypes being leaked. Well, designers have been known to do just taht if their designs get scapped. Many "black market" videogames were "release" that way.

Take for example "Thriller Killer". Iits was a PS1 game originally and the characters were all sick twisted psychos. Oone female character, in bondage gear, had an orgasm while she did a "fatality"involving ramming her stilleto heels into a downed oponent.

Well, the game never made an official release as the studio was bought up by those lovely folks at Electronic Arts.

Ratther than risk it, EA ordered the desigen team to completely overhaul the entire (FINISHED) game into "WuTang", which was a fighting game too.

So, one or two disgruntled employees leaked the entire game and source code onto the internet. Tthis does happen. An associate of mine used to work for Probe, creators of the Alien Trilogy and Die Hhard Trilogy amongst others (Probe were based in East Croydon, Uk, over the road from my art college).

Anyway, Ii NEVER had to pay fro beta test and full copied games from Probe..and the guy giving me them was their main artist/anaimator! Ho ho.

I sent them a product inquiry on the Alt. KO's, and will relay info on the "line" as I get it.

This is the response I got from the KO company...

" We cordially invite you to visit our booth at:

Hong Kong Toys Fair 11-14 Jan 2005 (Hall 3C20)

Spielwarenmesse International Toy Fair Nurnberg 2005 10 -15 Feb 2005 (Hall 14/C-03)

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for your enquiry. These are new products and will be available in May 2005.

We have total 4 to 6 items in this series. They all are license Car.

By the way, do you have any interest in our other Robots?

We are manufacturer, we welcome your order but there is a MOQ of 20' container with Mixed items.

Anyway, do not hesitate to let us know if you need any further information."

I wonder what the other 4 to 6 licensed cars will be?

I think both look great and if I ever see them, I most assuredly will get them.

One thing that jumped out at me is the Supra is tricked out. Obviously not a stock Supra. I assume Toyota gave them a license to do those which means Toyota didn't have any rules about only doing "official" or stock cars. Thinking about the Alt/BT line then makes me wonder...is it the car manufacturer who wanted "official" cars only or was it Hastak who wanted to stick with "official" cars and color schemes? By the way, I read somewhere that a toy maker need not get a license to reproduce a certain car (or plane for that matter) if the vehicle has been out of production for a certain # of years (maybe 5 or something?). Not sure if this is true or not. If it is, then maybe thats how Happy Well can produce a tricked out Supra (last model year of Supras were 1993 or 1995?, don't remember). Anyways, these look pretty cool. Too bad they are 1:18 scale. I think I'll bash a Megatron out of that SUV.

Swindle's not an 'official' vehicle, he's simply a Jeep with a lift and a brushguard. Not super tricked out, but definitely beefed up.

  • 4 months later...

Has anyone heard anything more about these KOs, they are due for release in May '05......

I have contacted the company a couple more times, but have gotten no response.
