First Alternators KnockOffs Sighted

You guys worry too much about stolen prototypes.  That's like the hardest thing to steal, and HasTak's been in the business for decades, nothing like this should or could happen.

Really?

Then check out E-bay............

How many fans got their hands on an unpainted prototype.

It seems like they are pretty easy to come by these days!

Those aren't prototypes. They're test shots. It's what happens while they test the mold to find any defects.

i cant be the only one that sees alt grim (done right!) in that land cruiser... and he should be a bit larger too, that's perfect!

Yep, Both modes are more G1 Grimlock reminiscent than the current Alt. Grimlock. I mean look at this guy's bot mode, it is Grimlock (sword and all). Could this have been meant for Grim, and then when/if Hastak couldn't get the license they sold the design to someone else?

It makes me think that if Hastak has other car/bot models that are just waiting for licenses, that many will just end up getting their heads popped off and put on other molds later? We might eventually see more repaints than we thought, and some other companies (who don't care about licesnes) might end up with Alt-like toys.

Linky Linky

(the actual URL is like 4 pages long...  :tflaugh )

I sent them a product inquiry on the Alt. KO's, and will relay info on the "line" as I get it.

I think the Mustang's transformation scheme is quite Grimlock-like, especially the way the bottom part of the car becomes his legs, very reminicent of the way G1 Grimlock's back end became his legs.

The Landcruiser may very well be based off of an Alt prototype, but we may never see that prototype become final products

Maybe the upcoming Mistubishi or Acura will be the Montero(?) or MDX, either could use the scheme of the Landcruiser.

actually...that SUV`s transformation is energon Ironhide`s. they merely removed all powerlinking gimmicks and redid the outer form to make a landcruiser.....(geez, four pages and nobody worked it out...)

While close, it's more complex than E-Ironhide's scheme. Ironhide simply stands up onto the front of his truck nose, the Toyota's nose involves the folding of multiple parts to form the feet.

It's like the way RID Prowl has a similar scheme to Tracks, as there are only so many ways a car can become a robot.

i agree with Black Arachnis

actually he DOES stand on the front of the altmode. the grill folds out to become the toes. the only alteration is that the front doors fold down, most likely due to an alteration in the roof construction. I`ve been disecting TF photo`s since I saw the first G1 toys in the 80's, I can safely say I have a pretty good grasp on transformationschemes.

The way the grill works to form toes and heels is the same, but the rest is completly different.

He's not standing on the front of the front of the SUV, the head lights are still there, the top has collapsed over an opening hood. It looks like the front wheels and fenders are now folded underneath.

Too many changes to be based on E-Ironhide, these KO makers just don't bother doing that many design changes.
