My complaint to hasbro about E. Dinobots

Recommended Posts

the other day i was reading ppls complaints about the backwards legs on... i think its stormjet, and so i figured i'd write in a complaint about the E. Dinobots:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i bought the new energon dinobots and grimlock is good, but swoop sucks. swoops arms don't lock into place so when playing with him the arms are all over the place. the super dinobot mode that grimlock and swoop have is even worse, grimlock doesn't connect to swoop all that well, he just usually falls right off, not such a super dinobot. in his mode you can't do much with the toy besides want to throw it at the ppls that made it. you.

STOP THE CRAP.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so that was my letter. :tftongue . i know its not all that friendly, but its how i feel. cuz the dinotbots are cool, but like swoops arms don't lock in place, and super dinobots is... its more of a feeling, the best word to describe is BLAH :puke .

so this is what i got back from hasbro:

sure the coupon is gonna be nice, but i really don't feel its all that solved the toys is still what it is. so come one ppls. complain. give them hell. don't do it cuz you expect a coupon. this isn't the first time i've done complaints. and it won't be the last. if my stormjet has backwards knees.... OH HELL :demon .

Odd.. my Swoop was perfectly poseable. No issues with the arms that I remember.

As for Mega Dinobot, mine is quite stable. I've knocked him over multiple times reaching for the lamp on my desk, and I've only had to reposition his arms once and the chest (Grim's dino head) once, on the same occasion.

If you try to follow the instruction sheet, then yes, MD is quite "fragile".

The trick (for me, at least) is to -not- press Grim's dino against the torso piece. Leave it unlocked, and it's "neck" hinge extended (so as to leave about a half-inch space open there), swing the waist hinge straight down to lock onto Swoop, then position Grim's head over that.

Like that, the top half of Mega Dinobot doesn't lean backward (although his chest and head seem oddly far forward, but since he IS technically a bipedal dinosaur, I guess it's not -that- strange), so he stands up better.

I've also got the wings folded down along the outside edges of the back cavity, and Swoop's arms folded up between them (kinda wrapped around the points of the wings, and angled up into the space between them). He looks alot cleaner, and I -think- that formation is even adding to his stability. (Not completely sure, but it seems that way to me.)

I learned a while back that the official instructions are sometimes confusing, inaccurate--or even dead wrong (I mean, WTF is up with TFU Skywarp's instructions? Were they drawn and written by a blind, retarded monkey?).

When in doubt, look at the final pic and figure out he transformation yourself. ;)

(using the TFU Skywarp example again, that's what I ended up doing, 'cause I couldn't follow what was printed there. It was THAT bloody screwy. :P)

could you please post a pic of your transformation of mega-dinobot?

thanks

By any chance was his right (his right, not ours) arm really loose and always fall down from the weight of his gun (sometimes it falls even without the gun in his hand)?

I have both Alt and BT version of meister and BOTH had this problem and sure enough, it was his right arm only, both times. Weird.

Oh well, looks like Meister is now a lefty.

my Universe SkyDive, is as loose and bloppy as a bunch or tangled rubber bands.

I have the origional, and love it, but the day I got my TF Universe SkyDive, was a day that made me wish I didnt collect toys. Seriously. Its that bad.

Mine's right arm FELL OFF when transforming him the first time. I barely touched it. It popped back in no problem, but still not a great feeling after finally finding a long searched for figure...

I need pictures to see if you are just transforming it wrong or it has a real promblem.

The only problems with my Jazz were that his door extensions were loose, and his left shoulder wasn't strong enough to hold his shield up.

Clear nail-polish top-coat fixed both of those right up. :thumb

As for the requested picture of my Mega Dinobot (henceforth referred to by me as Dino King).. I'll try to post one or three this weekend.

Shield? What shield? Did I miss something? As for the doors, where do you put the clear polish at? Pics of that too, please... (This shield idea has me intrigued...)
