The new Gestalts

Recommended Posts

Ok, so everyone's been complaining about the use of only 3 molds per team. Obviously, Has/Tak wanted to scrimp and save a little coin. There was a better way to go about this: Instead of doubling up on 2 limb molds for each team, mix and match. They'd still have to do more than 9 molds total, but some such as the jets and helicopters could have been swapped between the military and the jet teams.

You know, instead of having 2 helicopters in the miliary team, why didnt they put one in the superion team (hell, its already an aviation theme) and put one of the A-10's (powerglide looking guy) in the military team. Even the crane guy from the build team could get a slight retool as a missile carrier, or as a fire truck should they want to do Defensor. Do a military type jeep for the military team, and a rescue jeep for the Defensor team and problem solved. Re-tooling the construction vehicles for other jobs would be a bit of a stretch, but I already solved the crane one, the shovel tractor could have been one of those police battering rams (Defensor team again), and the tank could have been re-done as maybe a bulldozer or something.

Just a thought. What do you guys think?

sounds to complex for the buffons at hasbro though simple logic for a 3 year old ;)

I agree

Great Idea! To bad Habro would never do something like that.

But, then Superion Maximus would look TOO different from the G1 namesake, and then people would Starscream over that.

So what if half the limbs are repaints, nothing is stopping you from putting different limbs on different cores. And besides, your own suggestion is basically not a whole lot different than what Hasbro did anyway, and retooling is still quite expensive compared to a repaint. And you yourself said "it would still be more than 9 molds" which basically means more money.

Hasbro basically had a no-win situation. Either they could have put out TWO combiners will all different limbs, fans get wind of a possible third, and Starscream. Or, Hasbro releases three combiners, with half the limbs repaints.

I disagree with wath steevy says about superion..

the supirion gestalt would indeed look godd with one of the military choppers from bruticus.. why?

coz he still manages to keep the aviation theme and he will then be able to avoid the repeated mold syndrome...

furthermore, if superion was to get a chopper insted of a jet, it's not too bad...

remember the beastwars? all fans began the debate of TRUK not MUNKEY just becuase of op primal..

fans can and will no doubtly accept that one of the best loved gestalts now has a helicopter instead of a jet..

of course this is just my opinion...

I think Outrider just wants more Jeeps ;) .

Is it possible to mix-and-match the combiners? I only have Sledge so far, so I have no idea if they all have similar connection points or not. If it is possible, someone needs to get some pics circulating right quick!

Yep, mix and match just like the G1 incarnations could :)

It works well, right now I'm using SL Votrex (orange helicopter) and SL Brawn (green tank) as substitutes for the legs for Construction Maximus till Wideload and Bonecrusher come out. Since they share sort of the same color hues, so it works out suprisingly well :D
