Transformers is starting to go into a lull again and Hasbro is making sure it does.

Yes, this probably explains why I'm in a TF lull myself. :tfsad

Shame. I love this toy line too. I really hope that your speculations aren't real.

I wish they weren't myself, but it is what everything is pointing at.

Transformers Prime is in the hub, along with past Transformers shows G1, and Animated, soon Beast Wars, it even has Rescue Heroes. While not everyone gets the hub, so most are actually not even getting the Hub.

FOC is following WFC and is the only current Transformers line that is in the mainstream, because it is a video game, and most video games nowadays actually release figures.

DOTM had way less releases than either 2007 or ROTF.

Kreo has been nothing short of a bust, just yesterday I found Devastator on clearance already.

And from what I can tell from HTS, is it is not Hasbro raising the prices its the retailers that are raising them. FOC are $11.99 on HTS, $12.99 at Frys, $14.99 at Target and $15.87 at Walmart (so price match them down)

While Walmart putting Knockout with the Driller and Wheeljack with the Starhammer on clearance at $13. Target raised the price to $28.99. And Target still has DOTM at $16.00 for no reason other that hoping someone missed and is willing to pay

Meanwhile everywhere, the Transformers section of the aisle is getting smaller and smaller, with Hasbro sending out all the old crap that no one wants. and occasionally they send something new

I SAW that! I went to HTS the other day and was amazed at the prices there compared to the retailers. Which is why I posed the question of getting the figures at retail or getting them through an online seller. I mean at times you get enough from an online retailer and they'll even lift the shipping cost. Retailers are missing the WHOLE grand deal of why we as consumers and the plastic addicted go and shop at their stores! And I think the retailers buyers have no CLUE at what we want at all! I think that the retailers really need to hire a fanboy/girl or an Otaku friendly buyer to even get a pulse of just that or else all we'll be seeing is cluttered walls of BB's (and I'm not against BB at all...I rather love the character but sooo many and in the same design too?? Geez!)

I too am getting the retailers as 50 to 60% of the problem and they really cant say "well you consumers aren't buying the shelf warmers and that's why we're tightening our belts". They need to ask ...whats wrong with the shelf warmers? Why are there any such thing as shelf warmers? Too much of the same? Did we get them out too late and there was another avenue of getting them? Too many stupid gimmicks? Was this too preskool?

Don't dwindle, be more daring!

Hi :wave I pay thr equivilent of $30 a deluxe. Complain when you're closer to that sort of pricing :thumb

You Americans have just had it too easy for too long methinks

To be honest "WE" Americans shouldnt have to pay like the rest.Heres why I feel this way.

If not for Hasbro, Transformers wouldnt be what they are today......they might not even be around.

Diaclone is where it started.Hasbro made Transformers into what they are today.Point blank........:thumb

Not try to start anything.....just sayin.

Well guys, I guess this lull is good for me at least. Since my wife and I are splitting up and the end of this year, I'm going to be hurting on money. Will be selling a lot of my stuff.

On another note, while looking at my Unicron today I purchased back in 2003, I realized how much you got for $50 back then. I then look at DotM LC Bumebee which cost me $50 in 2011. It's crazy how prices rise.

Yeah though it is interesting that when I saw the Leader Class Optimus and Bumblebee from Prime they are still bigger that the Animated Leader Class and cost less then them.

It is one reason why these price hikes and less plastic is utter nonsense. I'm thinking they are just trying to push the Cyberverse, and make up for the loss in profits from the Kreo crap, that they knew was coming

Here is my take on Kreo. Playsets and Kreons is all they needed if they felt they really needed to compete against Lego. Kreons are cool as Hell and I'd they incorporated these with say a Cybertronian prison, Volcano with crashed Ark ship, Vector Sigma, etc, then maybe they'd have been more successful. Having to build a car and then rebuild it into a robot form is STUPID!!!! So, now we suffer because they keep pushing this failure. I believe that might be why we are getting skimped.

I'm sure it is, like I said before I already found Devastator at Retail and on clearance and I laughed my ass off. I refuse to own any Kreo because they are stupid and not real transformers and ugly as hell

I was just out shopping at my local Meijer, they just did their restock (FINALLY!) and got the first two waves of Prime RID deluxes, and wave 1 of FOC.... and they still ring up there at $11.99! So I picked up RID Ratchet (who shall now be known as Fixit), nobody else though, since all the other figures I either had already or didn't want.
