ANGST. We'll probably NEVER see these in TRU's over here in Spain. The same happened with Grimlock, and I ended up paying a shitload for him.... :emo

My TRU got only four of them, and they were bought by the same person in the morning. That's it. They're gone. This is such bullshit.

How do you know they were all bought by the same person? If that's true, then this is the least of what he deserves...

 

All I want is one of these to open.

All you need is one - period. Any more is just being greedy (if having 4 is bad, then having 2 would be half as bad, right?)

 

If you already have one, open it. Then get a TakaraTOMY version and keep that sealed, or better yet, keep the Hasbro one sealed and get a TakaraTOMY one to open (there's no point in keeping Japanese MPs sealed since there's no windows on the boxes... all you have is a weighted box! (there could be a small lead weight in there instead of a toy for all you know :P))

When it comes to masterpiece I like to have one displayed in alt and bot mode. I would like both Hot Rod and Rodimus alt modes displayed, but I only want one bot mode.

I hate it when i hear fans cry of not getting a certain TF...when he's available at retail just a few miles away...we get burned every single time when new tf's get released because not every transformer will get released out here in the Netherlands...

For special transformers like the Masterpieces i'm forced to use ebay or an online store and always need to pay a butload for them.....

 

But someday i hope to find him in stores over here....some day....................

I thought people were complaining about a toy not being released anywhere near them. Time's another factor -- when I was a student I would often drive 50km or more to hunt for Transformers. But now that I have a job and family, I don't have the time to do that, but I have friends who live in various parts of Sydney (or even nearby cities like Wollongong), so if a toy comes out in a store many kilometres away, often one of my friends will spot it and let me know and I'll sometimes ask them to buy it for me if I'm having trouble finding it around my area. That's how I got Generations Warpath. Then of course, I found Generations Warpath in my local Kmart for a cheaper price (typical!).

 

We sometimes have a few Transformers not released in Australia... but usually they're not very interesting so I don't care. :P Sometimes we miss out on some cool toys too. :( Though nowhere near as bad as what I've heard about Europe. :eek But yeah, I've often travelled far and wide to look for a toy. That's why sometimes if I see a toy locally, even if it's not on sale, I'll buy it just to save me time and fuel money on trying to hunt it down later... cos even if it were on sale, the time and fuel money spent would offset any savings.

 

Hmm... I've mailed Transformers from Japan to the Netherlands before... postage didn't cost that much iirc. Posting in bulk always ends up being cheaper with Japan Post - which is why I often combine orders with my friends. :)

I couldn't take it anymore and bought one on eBay. A search for "MASTERPIECE RODIMUS PRIME" now takes up 4 pages on eBay, and the prices are getting worse by the minute. Some sellers are even selling entire cases of 4 toys that didn't even make it to the floor at TRU stores.

Just picked up 2 MP Rodimus Primes from Toys R Us yesterday at the Lynchburg, VA store (visiting my parents). Before anyone says I'm being greedy, let it be known, one was for me and one was for my brother. Both are opened now. I originally went to the store on Tuesday, and none. I went back on Thursday to get a few more things for my daughter's birthday party, and there they were!!!! The cashier put them in separate bags because she said a guy had bought two the previous night and was complaining about the way she was handling them and that she was going to scratch the packaging by putting them in the same bag. I hope Toys R Us and Walmart continues to bring MPs over for these nice prices. And hopefully Takara Tomy decides to give us more MPs besides another Optimus Prime!!!

It seems like the chatter on Rodimus kind of tapered off. Was everyone who was looking able to find him?

I was at 2 TRU's today and the grand total of Rodimus's was 20 between the stores

Yes I think the initial release to stores was limited, but it stepped up in recent weeks. Now there isn't such a shortage as there initially was.

Tru here had 6 on the shelve.
