Ultimate Optimus Prime is "SOLD OUT". That was fast.

I guess that makes sense. If I actually wanted that toy, I would rather have one that comes packaged in truck mode. It takes up less space that way.

true but i was also hoping he would have flopped and i could have picked him up on sale. oh well.

Yeah, I put Starscream in my cart when it went up and in the two hours it took me to finally get to the last step of the process it was sold out. As mad as it makes me I can look on the bright side, Hasbro has finally heard our demands for a G.I.Joe/Transformers crossover line with something they can understand: sales figures and money.

The Hasbro Toy Store write up for Ultimate Optimus Prime states that

"OPTIMUS PRIME is the mighty leader of the AUTOBOTS. With expertise in even the most exotic and powerful weapons systems and a huge array of devastating weapons built into his body, he is the most fearsome fighter against evil the universe has ever seen. It's the ultimate in AUTOBOT power! The original OPTIMUS PRIME figure from 1984 combines with the Omega Combat Armor to form the biggest OPTIMUS PRIME toy ever! But sheer size alone won't guarantee a win against the DECEPTICONS. Choose from three modes - Robot Mode, Truck and Trailer Mode and Power Up Mode - as you "gear up" for action! Flip your Ultimax Super Canon into action and brace yourself for blasting battle sounds and glowing weapon lights that signal a battle to end all battles. Includes 2 AA batteries. Includes exclusive display case. Ages 5 and up."

This can't be true. I have both now and I don't think it's possible.

It really makes me sad people paid the 20$ mark up on ultimate prime for a differnt box! Guess this is how all future sdcc exclusives will be... toy currently on the shelf or fixing to be on the shelf in a new box for a 20% markup "100% in the case of prime prime".

I mean seriously, who else here would have had rather had a RID scourge "repainted from RTS prime" or a exclusive G1 reissue Cassett-icon/bot set in retro tape folder style package? Instead we got two reboxed figures...

Oh well, at least I didnt have to worry about staying up and getting them this year. :tflaugh

You do realize Prime Prime has a fancy deco and a neat keen Matrix case right? Not exactly what's going to be on shelves. Ultimate Prime im not sure outside of the display box.

I just don't understand how the if people were buying them per the disclaimer limit 1 per person, they sold out so fast?! I still think if the items are in my cart and I'm still checking out or shopping or whatever they should remain in my cart until I either cancel the order or purchase them.

I'll have to try that at WalMart. Grab an item from someone walking arounds cart and go up and pay for it right away. Basically that's what is happening. If the check out process didn't take so F'N long and time out 90% of the time this wouldn't happen.
