Takara Tomy have released the full details on the Transformers MP-10 Convoy Ver. 2.0 action figure. 300 bucks - arrgh! I hope this article is wrong. My preorder still says $250, and I still think that is too much.

I didn't see anything new in that article. It's like the author just saw the same pics we've seen before and commented on them. There was no further detail about the "one touch transformation"...

i really do hate that price. But knowing how Hasbro is with trailer imports just means i need to order this.

It looks superior to the original MP Convoy mold...but I just can't pony up the scratch for this AND the DMK model kits. And it's just yet another Optimus Prime. I'm starting to get sick of Optimus and his legion of toys and merchandise.

 

Gone are the days when I would happily cough up $250-$300+ bucks for a figure I wanted.

 

Actually, that's not altogether true. Where this Galvatron, I would have spared no expanse. The truth is, I just can't get it up anymore for MP Optimus.

It looks superior to the original MP Convoy mold...but I just can't pony up the scratch for this AND the DMK model kits. And it's just yet another Optimus Prime. I'm starting to get sick of Optimus and his legion of toys and merchandise.

It still sickens me after being an absolute 'completist' with the Masterpiece line - that they have driven me to the point of frustration over the repaints. It pisses me to no end, that they didn't even call this an MP-04x of some kind of actually took a new number (mp-10) over this chit. I wouldn't buy this one for $50. I would gladly spend $250 if it had been galvatron, shockwave, soundblaster, or almost ANY new mold. I can't get it up for OP or even Masterpiece in general anymore. I am actually very tempted to now sell off some of my past MP primes (ie, sleeping prime, black prime, etc)

 

Think of all the potential new repaints of prime this offers??? Now we can have a ultra mag resized. We can have a new black prime resized. A last prime. A sleeping prime. A finger in his nose prime. We get to do it ALL OVER AGAIN! If they wanted to redo the scale - perhaps they should have gone the Binaltech/Alternity method and just started a new series?? OH WAIT.. binaltech was hugely popular, and alternity fell on it's face. No lesson to be learned there tho.

Holy crap! I hadnt even thought of the repaints for this one yet - I should have, but I didnt.

I am really looking forward to finger in his nose prime though... Complete with little multicolored plastic buggers. And the Ehobby exclusive tissue box version.

I wanted to be a completest on the masterpiece line, but the special edition Grimlock and clear SS/MP04 ended that dream for me. The crap-tastic QC on Rodimus makes me want to cancel my MP10 preorder and wait for the eventual fixed reissue. Can you tell I am still pissed about that?

This thing does look great, but was it even necessary? I dont think so. MP04 is fine with me. The smaller scale does make a Ultra Magnus with trailer a little more realistic though.

With the news of the encore Devs coming a couple months after MP10, I really need to hold off on it. If I had to chose between the two I will go with Devs, and I probably will have to choose.

Yea, I was ok with them redoing Starscream (green to G1 colors); and then including a 'black prime'... but when they went to sleeping prime, last prime, ghost starscream (not to include 3 of the repaints came out in 2 versions - including an ehobby exclusive) - it was clear to me they had decided to go a different direction with Masterpiece, and start milking it for profits instead of keeping a quality, premium, collection-worthy series. The new MP-10 is the last straw for me. I'm officiall done with Masterpiece. I might get new molds, but I will not order 2 in qty any longer, and I will not get any repaints at all anymore (whereas, if they had kept them in proportion, they could have strung me along much longer).

 

Yes, the repaint potential, with the new scale is endless. I tell them what - I will buy MP-10 if they repurchase all the past MP characters in a different scale back from me. If they want to reimburse me the $1500+ put into them - i'd be glad to change scales now and start all over.

 

I think you will enjoy Dev's as well. I have 3 of the original G1 Dev's (one of which was my childhood dev's) so I have no real desire to get this one.

 

I will put my money towards restoring my old 68 mustang instead of transformers anymore. Or maybe getting my salt water acquarium back online (had to take it down 5 years ago when we remodeled the house, and never went thru the expense of getting it back up. Will take $1500 easy to get it going again).

I just put my money where i thought it would support a MP series...iGear. The coneheads were an easy way for them to reuse a mold and still provide us a new character. I can't believe Hasbro didn't at least release a Repaint Sunstorm or Acid Rain, endless possibilities. For me the MP line ended when they used the LC SS as one.

 

I have to say the Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime was nice to see, but the next mold should have been either a new Megatron or Galvatron or a Dinobot instead of this one. Make some Armor for MP prime for Ultra Magnus.

I am becoming more and more convinced to buy this toy. It's pricey, but it still is an entirely brand new MP Convoy and it does look different from MP-01.
