Wow No one has Stated the Obvious Next in Line The Awesomeness that Is HUFFER. Then Again it would be a bad choice Tf Property because the Decepticons would stop Mid-battle to Look at the Awesomeness that is HUFFER. Wouldn't make much for a story. Oh Well Huffer is Still Awesome on a Stick. That and he could Beat up Rodimus with his arms and Legs tied behind his back.

And as Huffimus Prime he would finally get his own trailer?! :tflaugh

lmao ... that sounds like a porn name.

Optimus got a trailer, Rodimus got a Winnebago, and so Huffer gets his very own mini camper!!

Didn't even notice those !!! Yeah... might have to change em', maybe something inna skull/crossbones pattern :P

They went the right way with Rodimus Prime in the movie, but when it came to the show, I firmly believe they had every intention of bringing back Optimus before season 3 even aired, so they wrote Rodimus in a way where people could not connect to him like they did with Optimus, thus forcing Rodimus to be delegated to the side and becoming another character in the universe.

Rodimus has so much potential, but people could not let go of Optimus Prime. That Rodimus will never get the treatment he deserves. Instead they insult him with hot crap shot.

I agree. I don't think they had any intention of allowing Rodimus Prime becoming what he should have and it had to do with the backlash that they received from parents and their kids after the death of Optimus (my parents wasn't involved in that). I was one of those kids that was upset when he died but was okay with Hot Rod becoming the next Prime because I liked the character. He wasn't no Optimus but I thought "movie" Rodimus could do the job. After the movie it was a disaster. Hasbro pretty much flipped his Hot Rod personality of being outgoing and confident. It was quite obvious they were not gonna give the Rodimus Prime character a fair shake. After what they did to him. He was better off going back to Hot Rod.

"Movie" Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime would be my choice to lead if Optimus went down.

Rodimus did get a second shot in Transformers Headmasters, when Optimus died again. But they screwed that up with him leaving with Kup and Blurr to find a new home after Cybertron was destroyed by Lord Zarak, and handing leadership over to Fortress. Only for Rodimus to return again as a Micromaster in the Return Of Convoy series.

I never saw Headmasters so I really can't voice an opinion on that. However, I did see some of Beast Wars. To me, I saw alot of character similarities between Hot Rod and Cheetor. I wish they would have handled Rodimus Prime's leadership over the Autobots like Cheetor did for the Maximals.

But in the end no one can lead the Autobots like Optimus Prime can. He is heart and sole of the Autobots and no other Autobot will ever be good enough to lead.

That is true, and I've come to realize something over the years. What people care more about is not the Transformers war or series. It is actually the relationship between Optimus and Megatron. In their never ending battle. Optimus's in stopping Megatron and Megatron's in destroying Optimus.

Hey, what's wrong with that trailer? I think it's rocking as it is! :tfevil And man, you really love you some Huffer! You know what? Props for sticking by the darkhouse and underdog haha.

And yeah, Onslaught, you're right. While a good story and all around character development is important, the general population is mostly concerned with the relationship between Optimus and Megatron. Which don't get me wrong, is important and interesting, but is just a small part of what makes the entire universe so appealing, at least to me. But, while you can have temporary fill ins for Optimus and Megatron, if you remove them completely from the story, it completely changes the entire dynamic of that particular world/timeline.

Yes it does, And that is the main reason why I loved the Japanese series after G1. Though for Masterforce, I do consider God Ginrai his own self, even though here in America he became Powermaster Optimus Prime. There never really was an end to the 3rd Great War. because of the focus on Optimus Prime and Megatron. I honestly would like a series that did not have Optimus or Megatron or even the names. I wouldn't mind a series with Rodimus Prime back in charge but give him his due. Or do a pre G1 with Sentinel Prime. You know something!

6 pages of discussion and has anyone mentioned Rodimus Prime from the G1 comics? Sure, G1 cartoon Rodimus Prime sucked, but I found his G1 counterpart to be a better leader. He didn't wallow about how he could never live up to Optimus Prime's legacy - he just got on with the job at hand. And even in death he continued to thwart the Decepticons (Rhythms of Darkness).

It's also like how they have written Sentinel Prime in the comics, as he is the Prime that has to die, so Optimus can lead. so why not make him an ass?

G1 Sentinel Prime wasn't a jerk. Or maybe he was. We don't know anything about the original Sentinel Prime other than the fact that he died and gave the Matrix to Optimus Prime. ;) Technically Sentinel Prime wasn't a supreme commander like Optimus though -- he took his orders from the Autobot Council of Elders which had disbanded itself when Optimus Prime became leader (There Shall Come A Leader).

I'm still waiting for a well written Rodimus.

*points @ the G1 comics*

More on the topic though, Ultra Magnus would've brought a lot to the table as a leader in G1.

I completely agree. Ultra Magnus is also a much better toy than Rodimus Prime (who is ironically a worse toy than Hot Rod). As a kid, I wanted to cool toy to be leader!

I think it actually would've been cool to see a Combiner as leader. Superion or Defensor would've have been decent as their composite personalities were competent and well rounded. Additionally, at any point they could break down into their component team members and almost provide counsel to themselves as each disparate personality would have a unique viewpoint to share on any given situation.

*points @ Beast Wars*

The Maximals are headed by the Maximal Imperium - former Autobots Ironhide, Prowl and Silverbolt, who combine to form Magnaboss, and the Predacons are led by three agents of Unicron who combine to form Tripredacus (although we never saw this happen in the show).

I agree about BB being the next in line,

You want a Predacon to lead the Autobots??

he was always the one that was willing to throw himself on a grenade to save someone else, and I think actually did in one episode to save spike or carley or some other human.

That's incredible considering that BB never appeared in G1. All he did was obey Starscream's bidding... "Roger!"

Magnus was a horrible leader, just look at how he was in the movie :P And in the series, Magnus is a 2nd in Command at best. Plus he got his ass handed to him by Sixshot and died

Actually we did see Tripredacus in his individual forms in the show, we never saw MagnaBoss.

Dude how is Bumblebee a Predacon?

BB was all over G1, You are confusing him with BB from Beast Wars II :P
