Transformers Movie Details Rumored

What companies do you guys think could do the special effects? I think either Industrial Light & Magic or that other company (i forgot the name) that did the special effects for Lord of the Rings could do the job.

Dragon x76. What you have there is shots from a japanese comercial (yes it's japanese even thogh it all those people look anglo) for it was either transformers the movie or Transformers 2010. In the comercial you hear people crying out "Convoy! Convoy!" as the helecoptors lift away his dieing body. I know where to download it and once I find the link I'll post it here.

That is no april fools joke guys, that's a real comercial, a real old comercial, but a real one none the less.

It could, just like the new Dreamwave series did. DW made the TFs arrive in '84, and was revived in modern times, thus allowing them not only to look the same, but their outdated alternate modes still made sense. Having the Transformers come out in 1984 would insure that several G1 characters will not look completely different. I wouldn't worry much about the car Autobots. Its guys like Soundwave and his cassette minions. If they tried to "modernize" these guys, they would look completely different. Soundwave transforming into a discman, while Ravage, Laserbeak and the others as CDs? Then, if they did that it wouldn't really be based on G1.

Or they could make Soundwave & the boys an MP3 player that uses either memory sticks or cards....meaning they wouldn't have to change their designs much at all, since memory sticks/cards are pretty much the same as cassettes....correct me if I'm wrong...

Ahh...the Soundwave/modern alt mode debate!

Still say he DOESN'T have to be a media player of some sort. Remember, he was none other than a **lightpole on Cybertron (original 3 part miniseries).

Again, the main **point of his deception was to get as close to his target as possible without detection, and then dispatch his spies. Sooo...

I say that give the movie's producers a lot of room for reinterpretation.

As long as his bot mode is recognizably Soundwave as we remember, then his alt mode is nigh important to this TFan AS LONG AS they keep **this concept intact.

Not sure if everyone will see my point because no one has brought it up before. I think everyone will agree with me that it is the ORIGINAL concept which is most important. After all, it is the concept of deception and disguise which got us hooked in the first place.

Soundwave's robot mode is awesome; keep it. Alt mode on the other hand doesn't have to be an MP3 player, etc., etc. The 'cassettes' weren't cassettes to begin with anyways. They just transformed into something which could then combine with Soundwave to download their gathered intelligence.

I wouldn't cry if he came back as an MP3 player, but it'd be neat if they could pull off something else too, and keep Soundwave's robot form and Decepticon function intact.

In essence, the preservation of the very central core of what remains so close to the cognitive spatial traces of childhood memories of intrigue and joy which still resides within each of us. Indeed, to separate them would carry with it the destruction of what we hold so dear and the disintegration of the fabric of lore which is at the center of the Transformers. I would not be able to carry the weight of such calamity upon my shoulders...sorry I've been following politics a little too much and was feeling somewhat presidential for a few nanoseconds.

So, in closing, I could go either way, MP3, etc. or something new; just keep it Soundwave.

Have an awesome Saturday everybody! I got to jam with some kick-@$$ blues players in the 'Burgh over the weekend and it's leading into a terrific weekend for me!!

I meant everyones comments were compelling. I partly agree, a non-animated version of TF movie, well... just doesn't seen right. I don't know how they can pull a live action version of the TF off. Even CGI could keep the feel that these are giant sentient robots with feelings. But a live action version? Huh, I can only hope and wait and see.

:tfsad Bad idea they better not make a live action transformer's movie why?because it just would not be good for the brand we all know that videogame movie's and cartoon's that are made into live action movie's have flopped. The only cartoon's that make a good live action movie is cartoon's like X-Men,X-2,have you seen the commercial for the punisher, hellboy, and spiderman 2,blade,and etc.I am a true transformer's fan but, the movie is not a good idea.Fan's are going to be greedy and going to wan't movie themed toy's.Energon is not even doing that well, the cheap plastic of u.s.a. alternator's,$30.00 dollar's a pop for the G-1 re-issue's at toysrus, and now the live action movie for transformer's who's going to make the toy's hasbro don't make me :tflaugh they can't even push the G-1 toy's out how are they going to manage toy's for the live action movie you know people are going to wan't toy's.

toys are fine, but if they change the charaters(megatron) to sell toys, than NO there shouldn't be movie toys.

Armada sucked from beginning to end. The final episode was a joke. The only saving grace for Armada was the DW comic, written by Simon Furman. Heh, wouldn't it be great if he contributed to the movie somehow.

if they take elements from the comics, they might!
