Is Superlink Shockblast more show accurate?

Recommended Posts

Laserwave is Show Accurate.

Shockblast is not.

The only problem i've noticed with Laserwave is that his back treads are actually dark grey on the show...which means they don't match his lower treads. Go Figure.

As far as the differences between the two, everyone said shockblast is more show accurate because his antenna and pole guns are black. This isn't the case. In the show, they are actually purple (a dark purple.) You can get plenty of good stills from the shows to show this point.

I own both and I like Laserwave due to his "correctness" and he makes for one cool toy. Shockblast is in with my "Hasbro Exclusives" pile because he is a cool figure but not accurate enough in my opinion to be Laserwave.

Lastly, one more thing to remember, the colors come out on the toys differently than in the show because they are two different things. Dying plastic is easier for certain colors as opposed to others, etc etc. Each company has their own idea on what the closest color is.

If you want show accuracy, go with Laserwave, but both toys are great additions to a collection :) Hope I helped...or something.

I think importing is worth everything.

If you buy the lesser of the two, you're still gonna pine for the one you wanted more, and end up importing it later.

Lazerwave is show accurate. He has dark gray, not whitish parts. The arm's paint aps match the show better, and of course, the silver treads...Shockblast stinks because he looks so washed out.

If it was just a simple choice as picking between the two I probably would choose the Takara versions but to pay in most cases twice the price just for the few minor paint differences just doesn't make very good financial sense. For what people pay to import a bunch of SL figures I can buy twice as many Energon figs and probably still spend less.

I couldn't give a rats ass if the colors are 100% show accurate or not. The figures themselves (not talking about color) are, and thats all I really care about. The most important thing to me is, do they look cool on a shelf? Yes they do...good enough!

Amen to that! Whatever one looks best to YOU is what you ought to buy. If you're concerned with show-accurateness then spend all the extra bucks. The only reason I ever buy Takara is when I like something better about the toy, not because of the show.

Hey, no need to use foul language. I prefer Takara's show accuracy and most of the time end up spending a lot less than the Hasbro versions. For example, recently, I got Starscream Reverse for $6.99 and Micron Legend Devastator for $11.99.

Plus, I personally am not mindful of how my transformers will look like on my shelf. I don't but transformers just to collect them, I plan on using them for stop-motion animation movies in the near future.

that's the reason show accuracy is more important.

For example, if I want to do a close-up of Armada Scavenger's Autobot insignia, I would prefer using takara's version because it is clearer and more descriptive. However, if I use hasbro's version, it will be vague and look very unclear. See what I mean?

Who knows what Hasbro was thinking with their coloration of Armada faction symbols?

I just wanted to note that in my opinion, importing is a thing of the past, all the online shops in the U.S. carry super-link, and for the extra dollars, youll spend that much money in gas driving store to store everyday looking for one.

True.

Also wanna point out that the current going price for Takara Lazerwave is about $30...personally, the extra paint aps and better plastic color is worth $10...especially on Wingsaber.

Hasbro's version almost looks like an unpainted test shot compared to Takara's wonder.

Interesting. Anyone got comparison pics of the two so we can see the differences mentioned? Thanks!

I can see spending money on getting mini-Megs since Hasbro's Super Megs colors are REALLY different. But with a few minor paint apps, I don't think it's wise.

Takara is 99% of the time show accurate with their colors. If you have a TRU near you, I'd suggest looking there first and hope they have Shockblast. You could add paint if you want. But it is ultimately your choice.
