Is Superlink Shockblast more show accurate?

Recommended Posts

This is one thing that keeps bothering me. Superlink Shockblast and Energon Shockblast look the same in terms of paint applications, but is one more accurate than the other. Ben from bwtf has the Superlink version so that's why I am contemplating on buying the Superlink one but is he really more show accurate than Hasbro's version?

With the TRU sale going on (megas for 14.99), I don't want to miss on getting Energon Shockblast if it turns out that he is as accurate as the Superlink version.

Superllink Lazerwave IS more Show accurate, He has chrome on is leg-treads whil Shockblast has a black wash.

They're about the same, but on either ends of the spectrum.

Sure, Lazerwave has the silver treads, but his grey's a bit too blue looking, and his antennae and other accent pieces are too light a shade of purple.

Shockblast has the proper dark purple antennae/thumb/accent pieces, but has no silver treads, and his grey is perhaps a shade too light.

I prefer Shockblast though, those light purple antennae on Lazerwave really put me off.

You could always get both and Kitbash'em together.

It is good but not as good as IMHO as the G1 Shockwave.

WOW i remember this thread a long time ago when lazer wave first came out! YES SL lazer wave is more show accurate and much better IMPO.

g1 shockwave okay, but not as cool as SL!

Fine, I'll get Superlink Lazerwave since he's much more show accurate.

Thanks everyone who provided info about both Hasbro and Takara versions.

I just don't see the point in spending a LOT more money to import the SL versions of toys just for a few minor paint details. If it's that much of a big deal to you to have a figure thats more show accurate then just paint them yourself and save a few bucks.

I think importing is worth everything.

If you buy the lesser of the two, you're still gonna pine for the one you wanted more, and end up importing it later.

Lazerwave is show accurate. He has dark gray, not whitish parts. The arm's paint aps match the show better, and of course, the silver treads...Shockblast stinks because he looks so washed out.

But no Lazerwave or Shockblast toy will ever be show accurate towards what he looked like AFTER he got smushed by Unicron. :D
