Protector Armor

Does anyone know if there's anywhere you can store Sidearm when you have Rodimus in vehicle mode with his trailer?

If there is, I haven't found it. Sidearm can store underneath Rodimus in vehicle mode, or clip onto the spoiler, but neither option can be done with the trailer attached.

Have you guys tried storing him inside that little compartment where he goes in when the trailer is in tank mode or whatever thats called? I haven't tried it....

Have any of you guys even been able to get those fins (regular or chromed) to clip onto sidearm to form a bow?

Yeah. That's where I thought that Sidearm could have been stored as well. Makes sense on paper.

The flames don't feel flimsy at all, and really don't stick out far enough to be a problem. However, it may just be mine, but the chrome spoiler pieces from Sidearm don't stay connected to the trailer together very well. They may be just slightly too wide. Added with the fact that the chrome appears to be a fingerprint magnet, and that black, triangular pieces rest uncomfortably close underneath the spoiler pieces, just don't swap the spoiler parts if intending to display the set with the Henkei! version. Only use the chromed pieces for the robot mode, as they feel a lot more gentle to the original toy's spoiler on mine.

Ah! When I finally DO get him I don't think I'll be using any of the chrome pieces anyway. IMO it just looks cooler with the Classics version.

about the sidearm, he cant fit into the spot he sits in tank mode as the protector head fits there. i havent found a spot on the alt mode myself, but i do use the 3 pack rodimus as targetmaster hot rod, so he sits on the spoiler when in alt mode

I think Vangelus's YouTube review shows where Sidearm could be stored away in vehicle mode. (I think it's where the flamethrower/engine went on Rodimus's vehicle mode.)

With a bit of effort, the regular spoiler pieces will fit into the provided slots on Sidearm for the crossbow mode. The chromed pieces appear to be slightly too thick to fit, however. That, and I really don't want to scratch the chrome on them to try it. Much easier to just use the regular ones instead.

the fins are so tight that its too much of a hassle to fit in there, and i dont even think it looks that cool, so im happy just not exploring that avenue

Just looking at the armor something weird hit me. Since RTS Rodimus is like Henkei! Rodimus without the Chrome pieces, couldn't you just switch out for the chrome pieces on protector and use RTS Rodimus?

You can do that for any version of the Classics Rodimus mold, but the chrome spoiler pieces were meant to be used with the Henkei! Rodimus simply to make it blend in better. (you can see the original spoiler through the holes that secure the pieces in vehicle mode.)

The 'problem' with RTS Rodimus is that the red appears to be quite a bit brighter than the red used on the Protector set. Classics seems to be an almost perfect match, and Henkei! appears to be just slightly darker on close inspection. But really, it's a matter of preference. Personally, I think RTS Rodimus looks like a terrible knock off. :P

Yeah, especially with those painted windows..... which leads me to this question: Is that window still a transparent plastic with blue painted on or is it not transparent? If it is, I wonder if it would look good with the paint removed.
