As much as I love Kevin Michael Richardson playing a fat guy, im still gonna miss Patrick Star Bulkhead. Its nice that theyre putting Animated and Bayformers together like some weird crossover, but im hoping this isnt some dumb kids show where the action and dialogue is tame and then we learn stuff we already know. YI want it kinda like the classic DCAU shows and a little of Animated but nothing like Storm Hawks or Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.

Eh, designs don't equal plot. I liked Animated's storytelling and if Prime is close to it in writing, then I'm sold. I like the designs, some of them are a little unexpected, but still neat. I actually really like Arcee being blue, even though my inner dork wants her to be pink, it's a nice change up. I'm always open to new designs, even if they don't always scream a certain character to me.

I wouldn't use the whole "recycled" designs argument. The character design of Transformers Prime is clearly a blend of both movie and Animated styles.

I don't hate any of these designs(don't particularly like them either) just wish starscream was a little bit more g1 or at least looked more like the IDW design...he is to thin and i got a feeling that he is gonna be way under scale!!!

I feel like the autobots had more time with the concept developement and that the cons were just thrown together (soundwave looks just lick the drones frome the teaser clip from comic con)

soundwave, i hate his design but it goes more with his character if there gonna playup him more as a stealthy spy type character...but i guess since he looks the way he does that there will be no Ravage Rumble or frenzy...bummer

i just hope the story is good

You misunderstand. I'm not calling TF: Prime recycled. I'm saying it's something new and that's what I like about it. When I talk about the same stuff being recycled, I'm talking about people who can't get over G1 and whine about anything new. Don't get me wrong. G1 is great. I still watch it happily, but if the stuff they are putting out today was just a continuation of G1 I would've stopped watching long ago.

Soundwaves bio mentions his minicons (don't think it calls them minicons, though) as his primary weapons.

I understand, but Transformers Prime not only recycles designs, but it melds two previous Transformers incarnations, the live-action movies and Animated. I look at the new Bulkhead, Arcee, Ratchet, Starscream and Soundwave and I see Animated. I look at Optimus Prime and Megatron and I see the movies. They're not exactly original. Giving Megatron a poor alt-mode is certainly nothing new, in fact it's an unfortunate trend.

I figured i'd just give my thoughts broken down charater to character

 

Autobots

 

1. Arcee 4-5

 

Never really liked her character, I thinik its cool that she is a bike not feeling the blue and her face is to anime (which i cant stand anymore) she does look cool though, just hope that if the put prowl in this series he is a cop car and not just a rehashed male version of her.

 

2. Bulkhead 5-5

 

He was very anoying in Animated hope he is not as stupid i wish they would have left him out and put in iron hide as the muscle

or put hound in as the military atv...non the less he looks very cool

 

3. bumble bee 3-5

 

well as long as he doesn't have "radio bay voice" (which after reading his bio i fear will be the way he talks) i can live with hin being a camaro again, although i still will always think of him as a VW bug or like if he was a supped up honda (cool tuner car) i think that would be cooler

 

4. Prime 4-5

 

well at least he doesn't have flames THANK GOD!!! no more pimp my ride optimus prime!!!

dont mind the design i feel like they could have given him more detail..the fron winows look like the were glued on they should be more angular like the WFC model

 

5. rachet 5-5

 

love ratchet he is the best designed character just hope he is not a cranky old bag like in animated

 

7. cliff jumper 5-5

 

love the design but wishes he was iron hide instead of cliff jumper..don't get me wrong CJ was one of mt favs growing up

but the design fits more with iron hide

 

Descepticons

1. megatron 3-5

 

love the robot design but i hate that he is a jet and not a tank i hate that you can see his head when he is in his alt form

the cybertonian jet mode is played out they did it in the movie and in animated would like him better as a tank

 

2. soundwave 2-5

 

ok so is it just me or did they turn sound wave into a tranny former he looks very fem in his robot form and can only imagine what his

alt form is (hopefully not a boring ass satilite)

woste design of all but like i said before looks good as a spy

 

3. starscream 3-5

 

i like him fro the waste up but i feel like i could pick my teeth with his arms and legs don't understand why he and soundwave look like they are in high heels and his alt mode sucks!!! he looks more like a comercial liner than a fighter jet

 

Humans

I understand why the human element needs to be in the show it is so that viewers can relate better with the robot characters

but if they put to much emphasis on the humans i feel like this will fail just like the energon series

 

1. jackson 5-5

 

his design is cool i like the long lanky look he doesn't look overly anime

 

2. Miko 2-5

 

this neo-punk emo look is extremely played out hate it!!!

to anime don't really have an opinion on how to design her better but i don't like it

 

3. raf 4-5

 

minus his wolverine hair cut he is a very well designed character i dont like the oversized sneekers and the baggy pant

lets face it hi looks like a computer nerd and last time i checked most tech guys i know are huge metal heads he looks like he just got back from a jay z or lil wayne concert then from a computer exbo

 

well that my thoughts hope i didn't offend anyone just voicing my opinion can't wait to hear everyone elses thoughts

All in all i think (and hope/pray) this series kicks major ass liked animated alot was sad to see it go i felt that it was just getting good

hope to see alot of characters from the g1 series re vamped and hopfully not trashed only time will tell
