TF3 SPOLIER! Shockwave floating head! Rosie's Character name......

Recommended Posts

Rush is probably just a placeholder name until Hasbro comes up with a heritage name to slap on there. Same thing happened with Rampage and Reedman from ROTF. Rampage was called Skipjack (and is credited in the credits as such) because Hasbro hadn't named him until it was too late I guess, whereas Reedman stayed Reedman because Hasbro didnt even bother to give him a proper name, probably because his figure could've been used as a shiv in prisons.

I just cant believe that that is Shockwave's head. If Bay has anything to do with his design, he almost has to have a thousand eyes and some big racist lips.

Dont get me wrong, I hope he is BADASS. I really really really do. Shit I hope he looks like his WFC design and we get a leader out of him. Hasbro better get on the leader ball, I can only take Prime and Megatron so many times.

It seems Shockwave's alt mode is a giant floating head.

I know what you mean...You'd think that through all these years since the 80s that they would name new leaders for once. When you look back everytime there is a new show it's retelling the same story between megs and Op. I wish they WOULD name Shockwave THE Decepticon leader and leave Megs out of it...same with Prime. If Prime stayed dead, then watching Rodimus lead you think back to how great OP was, and you wonder who the next good Autobot Leader would be...

Then again if you were just talking about the toyline then yeah, they need more leader class figures....

Wow a stick figure as Carly. Too bad there is no Spike Character.

The "Shockwave" head looks more like a drone where the red is its propulsion system.

Seriously, you guys get all out of whack over such tiny stuff.

OH SH*T, Shockwave YES

Yeah, 'cause "Rodimus" did so well the first time around. We really need a whole new series built around that crap.

They've played around with new leaders here and there over the years, but never as a full replacement for Prime and Megs. I think they're so set on their franchise guidelines after the '86 debacle that they won't stray from that again. Instead we'll get nods in the Generations line years later (i.e. Darkmount.) But if you think back, here's what we've had:

G1: Rodimus/Galvatron

BW: Rhinox/Dinobot/Terrorsaur

BM: Cheetor/Tankor

RiD: Scourge

Armada: Hot Shot

Energon: Scorponok

Cybertron: ??? (didn't watch it; couldn't stand the voices/animation)

Animated: Starscream

The whole Shockwave thing for TF3 is kind of surprising, really... there's been nothing in TV canon ever to indicate Shockwave as having anything but unyielding loyalty to Megatron. If he is indeed a rival leader in the film, that would be a huge win for the Marvel comics legacy.

Personally, I wish they could just keep a series going long enough to show some succession. Lately we've just had in-between-movie years/lines, when I'd much rather see a continuous toy line and story arc spanning a few years and letting some new names/characters come to the forefront. Instead we get legacy names and archetypes over and over again.

You're obviously not a comic person. In the Marvel TF G1, Shockwave found Megatron too illogical to be a leader. After Megatron screwed around for four issues, he showed up in #5 and defeated pretty much every one that had been on the Ark. From there it was a pretty much constant struggle for leadership between Megs/Starscream/Shockwave. You're list needs a new category that will include some awesome characters:

Marvel Decepticon leaders: Megatron/Trannis/Straxus/Megatron/Shockwave/Megatron/Ratbat/Scorponok vs. Shockwave & Starscream vs. Thunderwing(Decepticon Civil War)/Bludgeon/G2 Megatron

Marvel G1 Autobot leaders: Alpha Prime/Guardian Prime/Sentinel Prime/Prime Nova/Optimus Prime/Emirate Xaaron/Optimus Prime/Grimlock vs. Fortress Maximus (Duel on the Moon)/Powermaster Optimus Prime/Grimlock vs. Prowl/Actionmaster Optimus Prime/G2 Optimus Prime

And that's just the main leaders in the main continuity. There are branching leaderships and alternate realities to contend with, too.

No, I'm always going with the 80's cartoon story line, Not the marvel comic which went waaayyyy out of wack....:tdown
