BBTS Confirms New Takara Tomy Predaking Release

Recommended Posts

Hopefully that is the diecast version... The price is a bit steep if it wasnt...

I'm hoping it's all-plastic. I might spring for one if that's the case. Otherwise, forget it.

I will get this one over the Hasbro Seacons release even at the extra $110 to the price. I have always wanted this figure but it was impossible to find before the internet.....:lol

I got the 2005 release and its still in the box. The completionist urge deep inside screams I NEED to buy it! BUT the new "pay off my bills" part of me says to pass.

I agree the price for this release is a little high.

I would wait for Robot Kingdom to see how much they are selling it for and find out the shipping on that, then compare to BBTS and go with the cheaper

Why do you want the plastic one more??? What's the benefit?

too much die-cast can make a figure hard to handle, or the paint might chip off too easily. I recently got masterpiece black convoy, and while the metal is amazing, I'm very concerned over chipping and I'd love to get the plastic hasbro prime to be able to fiddle with more easily.

In the case of predaking here, I'd prefer the metal version just because I want that heft for this giant gestalt. that, and i just like knowing my g1's (reissue or not) have the original metal content

I Pieced my set together at BotCon 94, took me 14 years to finally find the left fist at a flea market for a reasonable price. Mine is mostly the metal version... SO I think I'll stick with my old set thanks. I also like the new KO mini version, puts the set on par with the rest of the combiners finally.

How about a NEW predaking original set there Hasbro/Takara? And throw in a cool G1 inspired Dinobot set, 5 dino's that resemble the original dino set that combines as well! Slap an awesome looking Grimlock like head and have a removable crown! Dinoking for the US.

Sometimes these remakes take all the fun out of hunting down sets like this.

Speaking of which, how about LioKaiser so I don't have to break the bank looking for the last 2 jets I need and the head to complete mine?

(paint wear, my MP Magnus lost some paint when it gingerly rubbed against the Prime Trailer in a photo shoot I was doing. Not cool there Takara!)

I'm guessing it's because the plastic version would be cheaper. Me and my kids actually play with our collection and after that I store them away so the die-cast thing doesn't really appeal to me.

Side note I have all five Predacons but do not have the fist or feet. So hopefully bringing these figures back to retail will bring down these ridiculously high parts.

I can't justify spending $180 on one toy, even if it's the awesome Predaking... Atleast the Piranaconseacon thing is priced more reasonably :o

I am going to get this, as well as the Seacons & SDCC G1 Blaster. I already have the Seacons in great shape, but I am a sucker for G1 reissues. I DO NOT have predaking at all, so I will pick it up. I am torn though... recently I've gotten burned on pricing. I have a few regular sources that I go through, who also sell on ebay. Recently I've pre-ordered directly, with the understanding that bypassing ebay will get me the item sooner, AND cheaper, considering we avoid some fees. Well the last 2 times I've ordered (Masterpiece Ghost Starscream and something else) I've gotten no problem, but seen the SAME SELLERS offering them for a good $20-30 cheaper on ebay, even with shipping factored in.

I want to get them, for fear of missing out and having the prices jacked up even more to get them later, but part of me wants to wait to see if I can get them cheaper elsewhere. :(
