Peter Cullen will be a voice actor on "Transformers:Prime"

Recommended Posts

but alot are the same, even in the line up you just mentioned voices over lap.

I don't think any voice actor is above that.

Still, in interviews before 07 all he use to say was it was a busy time and he was just reading lines.

He even went on to say that he forgot all about Optimus Prime till he was invited to a convention.

I don't want to denounce the guy. The simple fact is though, he wasn't trying to cultivate a character that would withstand the test of time. He was just doing a job reading lines, and as it turned out, these just happened to be the lines and character that stuck.

I like Peter, but honestly think if he wasn't the first Optimus Prime, he'd be sitting with Neil Kaplan right now.

That in itself says something about Chalk and Kaye. after the RID interlude, they were called right back!

I give Frank and Peter alot of credid for their work, again they were the first, but Dave and Gary really deserve just as much credit for the time and talent they put in as well.

No, he wasn't. That doesn't mean that when he created the voice that he didn't draw from people he looked up to for inspiration. All voice actors do that. What he was trying to do though, is create a voice that best fit that character, and brought out the qualities he saw in that character. He did that by turning to the two people who best emulated those qualities, his brother and John Wayne. The "Optimus Prime" voice, is a voice of authority, strong, wise, powerful. It's a good voice for getting and holding people's attention and commanding respect. It's also very close to his own voice, just taken down a little in pitch.

now they should get Frank Welker for Megatron and Soundwave

I'd rather have Corey Burton as Megatron, or David Kaye.

"Decepticons, transform and rise up!"

"Yessss"

Nobay can match Peter Cullen, that much is obvious. After all how long was the time between, rebirth and Transformers 2007?

I love Cullen but I love Welker even more. He is my god. I really wish he'd do voicework for a character that gets more then 3 lines (in a TF series) anyways. David Kaye is also one of my favorites. Among chicks, you gotta love Tara Strong and Cree Summers (not just their TFA work, but in just about every bit of animation theyve ever been in).

And that dude who did Tarantulus' voice was awesome.

Rattrap/Piccolo/Jetfire is a great tallent too.
