Unless it is an item which has a set release date you can either phone the store and request they put the toy behind the Customer Service desk. OR you can just ask a member of staff to go and look in their store room for you, it is within your consumer rights as a customer to expect this level of service.

"I am ringing to inquire about the availability of a particular toy within your store"

"Would you do me a huge favor and please have a look in the back store rooms for a particular toy it is the XtotheYtotheZeeage"

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

yeah maybe in 1940 when you rang someone on the telly and a woman in a bonnet moved the plugs to make your connections for you.

Service with a smile don't happen on an hourly wage.

Guess it must just be that Yanks hire morons in their stores. I have never came across anything but help in a UK store.

Freefall, don't go live in Reading then... I lived there for almost 18 years and hardly ever got anyone that'd even go otu bck to look for figures. Especially when Woolworths was still around. They were never helpfull in there

Truth be told the majority of people who work in Walmart don't know what the hell they have in stock. Luckily for me the Toy department lead in a Walmrt near me loves Transformers himself and he makes sure that if he runs across something new it's stocked on the shelf because he knows we hard core fans will be looking for it. At least I pretty much know that if somethings not on his shelf then they definitely don't have it.

So you are a Southern Toff eh... :tfpuke

Lets say at walmart u want to buy a certain figure. He's not on shelfs and you looked everywhere. Can you just ask someone that works at walmart to take out that figure. If do you do ask, will the person take out that figure? If not, why?

I have been trying to get legends devastator for a long time and the walmarts I go to don't put out any devastators on shelfs. I look at the price tags on shelfs and none of them says devastator or $30. Is there something wrong with the walmarts I go to or what. PLEASE help

FWIW, you may have actually just missed out on these. These were clearanced out a few months ago here in my area. I actually got mine for $15.00

I have one unopened that you can have for retail and shipping. PM me if you want =)

In short when it comes to Walmart, if you can't fend for yourself, abandon all hope and leave. Asking a clerk for help is like calling ahead to TRU looking for an Animated Arcee :P

Yes walmart employees are usually useless, ignorant of stock, and/or hostile. I have had some luck if I ask directly for an assistant manager or a manager, depending on the walmart. I got the first wave of ROTF deluxes early this way. Target is great though. I've had lots of willing help there.

I have also had some luck with TRU exclusives, at least back when reissue Soundwave came out. But animated Arcee is another story. My TRU is really far away. So, lately I've been calling them about once a week (Fri/Sat when new trucks come in) for Animated Arcee, making sure to ask directly for 'Boys Toys' and spelling out Arcee for them (other wise they think 'Remote Control'). I believe they do actually go and look and they usually tell me to call again when the next truck comes in. What is your experience with TRU and Animated Arcee?
