umm... cause if you haven't noticed by now, the movies have made A LOT of money.

 

and bumblebee is much better as a camaro, especially if he's going to be a main character. i always hated the g1 vw bumblebee. he had such a retarded alt mode.

 

anyways, i'm definitely intrigued by this. i'm very interested to see what the rest of the characters look like.. i'm also interested in seeing what the figures look like. and i can't wait to read how much everyone else wants to "upper-deck the toilets at hasbro".

 

the way i see it is.. the adult collectors get generations & war for cybertron, and the kids get this new show. sounds pretty fair to me. lucky me, i like it all so far.

Yes older fans of the classics spend lots of money on Transformers today, but the REAL one's out there spending the bulk of the money are the parents buying them for their kids. And guess what? Kids LOVE the movie Bumblebee...so I'd say Hasbro is very much awake and knowing what they are doing!

 

 

And for my own personal take...I like what I see so far. This Bumblebee version isn't too bad, and I'm really curious as to how all the other characters will look.

I like it, he looks very sleek/slick.... but should BB be sleek/slick looking? If he still uses the radio to talk... wtf man... "There's some things you just can't change" - Forrest Gump

 

I hope Prime doesn't get the same treatment.

I don't believe the designs played any part in the success of the movie. The millions of dollars the add dept spent over came their ugliness.

Couldn't have said it better myself. While everyone has their own opinion about Movie designs (I like most), Hasbro is well aware of who brings in the bacon. While its nice to them to cater to us collectors once in a while, the kids(and Parents) are ultimately what Hasbro needs to market towards. Its was the same way in the 80's.

 

Personally, I like the style of this new cartoon. I hope the rest are decent as well. Can't wait to see the first episode! :con

You can't judge a show by one design. Maybe it'll be great, but so far we have the god awful movie writers attached and now we have this.

 

So far there are no good ingredients.

Well I'm intrigued now, I mean the design is pretty Movie-style like which makes me wonder if this is going to be a completley new story or a sort of addition to the Movie-verse we already have. Eitherway one character design isn't going to effect my opinion of the show, I'm still neutral until I see some other designs and/or a segment from an actual episode, that and if they include Grimlock, in case you haven't figured it out yet...I do infact like Grimlock :roll

 

Also in the matter of the Bumblebee toy for the show, -ahem- PLEEEEEEASE don't be another repainted Movie Bumblebee!

The look isn't terrible, if they brick it up a tad so that the robot forms don't look like metal that was sent through a meat grinder and lumped together then it has potential. IE Starscream looking like a jet is fine, but looking like a triangle/ape thing with tiny legs aint cool.

 

Megatron in the movies looks terrible, his alt modes even worse most of the time.

 

So for me if the show results in decent toys I am all for that.
