Sneak Peek at Bumblebee from Transformers: Prime Cartoon!

I've met some cool people here in a short period of time and love checking in and not just for the news or pics.

But between the punk-ass bitches (little kids with no respect) and the haters, for the fun of hating, it gets old. And takes away from the FUN of being part of a great group like this.

Since when was one persons opinion more important or correct than another. We are all different, and if we all thought the same way then the world would be a pretty damn boring place.

It's cool to be passionate in life but what happened to treating people the way YOU would want to be treated. RESPECT only works when it flows both ways.

And NOBODY'S right when it comes to individual feelings, except yourself about yourself.

I'm all for US against THEM... but we all all US here :beer

weeeee, drama!!!

right, so here's my take on it all, I'll use some snippets, so you'll have to excuse me for slicing and dicing the posts a bit:

In defense of the move to keep the images this way.

-TF1 sold huge

-Animated is STILL a shelf warmer

-TF2 sold huge

Can't blame them for sticking with what works.

Bah, I didn't get the qoute of you going on about change, I think its on page 1 or 2, anyway - I find it funny that you can advocate for sticking to the bayformer design saying "Can't blame them for sticking with what works." and discrediting g1 fans for not changing with the times. Kind of a double standard there.

I do agree that it makes more sense to make a series more movie like in design with a third movie comming out soon and all though. Personally, my hopes are for whatever series that comes after this wannabe junkyard design, but thats just me.

Oh yeah, one more thing... Bumblebee is NOT supposed to be a Camaro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its funny how the argument of not being a Camaro turned was percieved as "make him a WV" guys, if you're gonna argue, then at least argue about things that people have actually said.

Also in the matter of the Bumblebee toy for the show, -ahem- PLEEEEEEASE don't be another repainted Movie Bumblebee!

Now see THIS is something to worry about, I really hope its not going to be a repaint line.

You "old-school fans" are usually the first ones to abandon Hasbro for Takara, so why should they cater to you?

Well, because if you as me, were born in the late 70s then you'd know just how big the impact of Transformers was, and even though just a fraction of the kids from way back grew up to become an adult collector, the vast majority of people around my age remembers G1 from growing up with a nostalgic smile on their lips, ie they're predisposed to taking their kids to see the movies, buy the toys for 'em - etc, etc.

hmmm, lets see if I can put it in simpler terms for you: There is no way in hell that the 2 Michael Bay movies would have made all that money had it not been for the decades of transformer history before that. By NOT "catering to" any of that history they tarnish the brand name, they miss out on potential sales and in 20 years time when they launch a new series the nostalgia bit we saw with these 2 movies won't be there to back it up, at least not as strongly as it did the Michael Bay movies. To give you a short answer: they'd make more money.

The movies made so much money because the general public like to see things blow up. A cartoon series on the other hand is where the viewership veers away from the general public and into the land of kids and hard-core fans. This is where the money part comes in... the companies responsible will make some money from the show through TV ads, they always do, but the real money comes from the merchandise. Animated was a huge success because it was a big hit with the two groups I mentioned earlier, not with the general public. So again, Hasbro, if they could ever get their head out of their butt and ditch the ridiculous BayFormers look, would have much more money to make if they would come up with a G1(ish) design or even an entirely new, smart take on it like with Animated.

Oh, and timmy, why do you think his name is "Bumblebee" to begin with? I'll help you on this one, it's because his original for was a VW Bug. Bug... Bumblebee... do you see the connection?

Now, even though Joe here might not have been tactful you guys flamed him for his statement about fans having money to spend, and you know - I don't think that makes any sense, BUT if you actually read the rest of what he wrote he does have a point. A cartoon like this is an awesome opertunity to start the series with the bayformers design and then turn them into something with actual armour on it after an episode or 2. I could get on with the content of his post, but thats not what I was aiming for, it was the whole thing about arguing.

I mean some people seem to almost try and pick a fight like this for example:

You can't judge a show by one design. Maybe it'll be great, but so far we have the god awful movie writers attached and now we have this.

So far there are no good ingredients.

so then maybe your wrong with your initial attitude towards hating it?

Your entitled to your opinion of course, I really don't care if you love it or hate it. I just don't onderstand the point of putting shit in a sling over a third of a design?

If you don't like it, fine, but thats no reason to beat down any optimism just yet.

Now, Ender says that it is too early to judge, ie he hasn't made up his mind, but somehow it gets turned into him hating it?

again, stop putting words in peoples mouthes.

If you don't like it, fine, but thats no reason to talk down to anyone who does.

Am I the only person who thinks it's sad that the belittle pandering is coming from the older crowd?

Again, you can't tell people not to talk down to others if you do it yourself. It kind of takes the credibility out of it, especially if you are taking sides and think its ok when bayformer fans go after g1 fans, but not the other way around.

What a suprise. Cry-baby hardcore G1 fans. Why does nearly every topic end up this way on here.

Because of comments like the one you just made.

The hating for just the sake of hating especialy when paired with juvinile attitude coming from the older fanbase...

It makes you regret if not forget that this is all supose to be fun.

This isn't directed at everyone, there's still alot of good folks out there. But man, the rest are just sucking the joy out of this for what seems like no other reason then sucking the joy out of a otherwise enjoyable hobby that serves many fronts.

Then maybe you should stop adding fuel to the fire by insulting the older fanbase? Seriously, your rants on here reminds me of some lyrics in an old Genesis song "just do as I say, don't do as I do..."

I'm 34, and have collected from DiaClone through the current with much enjoyment. So please, don't tell me about calling out older fans, and new lines, and so on...

I've been around for all of them and have taken every change in stride while enjoying this hobby.

If you really did read this thread, you'd see I wasn't flaming or baiting anyone. There's never a need for that. I can also tell you if anyone felt I was, they'd aproach me dirrectly without need of your generious aid.

I may remind you of an old Genisis song, but I'm old school too, and you got me thinking of an old Megadeath song "Practice What You Preach"

Welcome to the boards, stay the course, you'll do well here :thumb

Beyond that, I'll let my reputation here preceed me and walk away from this.

Yeah, but I think you can agree with me that Nor age or collecting since diaclone gives you the right to be disrespectful to others - and then go off on a rant about hate on the boards. If you treat others like that then it will breed hate. You might not have intended for it to be taken that way, but if you read the quotes in my previous post then maybe you can see how some of that can be provactive?

Now, I do try to "Practice What I Preach", but then again, I'm not the one that is bothered by the hostile atmosphere, infact I love to get into debates and maybe actually get my points across or learn new stuff. What bothered me was the hypocracy of people being hostile towards others while complaining about the reactions of said hostility.

Oh and just to make it perfectly clear - this wasn't aimed at Liege, per se - it was aimed at everyone.

right, having said that - Thank you for the warm welcome, and Grats on your MP Megs, Liege

I understand where youre coming from G1, and i appreciate your concern for the sometimes lacking respect for others experienced around here, but it comes down to us being grown men (and women?) and collecting toys. its a weird position to be in, because we feel left out of the equation because we are not the target market for such products, yet we feel compelled to continue collecting for whatever reason. what im getting at is that this situation is a ticking time bomb and emotions are going to run high because the mythos is so close to our hearts, and when hasbro decides to go one way with their franchise and we as fans want it another, theres a disconnect and once again, we are left out. it sucks sometimes and we get mad at eachother, but realizing that we collect things intended for children is also our responsibility as adults.

anyway, i was going at something and in the process of writing i got distracted and my thoughts drifted, so pardon the meandering. but yeah, bottom line, were big boys now, we can suck it up and take a knock or two and not let it hurt our pride! :hbang :usa

One thing both sides of this debate are forgetting is that this design may not even be the design of Bumblebee in the new cartoon at all. Hasbro may simply be using movie Bumblebee as a mascot for The Hub. We simply don't know, and won't until more information about the new series is released, including actual designs specifically stated to be from the new series.
