Lego Transformers

Recommended Posts

Okay, this is neither Lego or Transformer, but it's close enough to both to get my interest. I got this delivered from China today. It's my first of a line of Lego "compatable" sets that are designed into Transformers sets.

This one is called "Speed King"

This toy looks great as a vehicle (helicopter), not bad as a robot. It actually "transforms", you don't disassemble it and reassemble it like an Armada BTR toy. It has "128+" bricks. As an orange helicopter, it evokes Transformers characters of Sandstorm or

Energon Stormcloud.

From the instructions it looks like it's most or all Lego parts, so you could technically just get ahold of some technic bricks from Bricklink or the Lego Store and make your own.

Nice find. Looks alot like Sandstorm.

Look forward to some pics when you have it put together.

I had Lego, but never really got into them. My building set of choice (and still is) the defunct Construx sets! I use to make giant robots out of those. I had the motor too so they even worked a little.

In my old apartment I had some set up as a base platform for Fort Max and randomly on the shelves. Sadly I don't have room for that here so the bits I have are packed away.

This is what everyone should do whenever they post images of a nice looking Lego Creation online. Post how you did it so others can recreate it if they want to!

I bought several sets of KO Legos on ebay from a guy together. This one came to about $8 with shipping. The guy has several Lego Transforming sets for sale, this was the cheapest.

I've been checking and you can get all the parts from regular Lego sets. I'm writing up a parts list from the www.bricklink.com database now, and I'll post it. So you can buy a KO set like this too, or order the real lego parts from an online parts seller and make it yourself. I already plan to make one from real Lego in blue and grey, calling it Whirl.

how's the quality of the plastic? Does it seem pretty durable or flimsy?

Surprisingly durable. Not loose at all, nor likely to break.

Yeah all those pieces look like legit pieces that Lego makes. It's not bad for $8. For 128+ pieces it would be a really great deal if it was actually a Lego creation.
