Marvel Crossovers

Recommended Posts

Does anyone collect the Marvel Crossovers? I just got Spider-Man/Iron Man combiner and it is friggin weak. Are all of them this crappy? I wouldn't mind getting Carnage, Captain America or Thor so if anyone does buy these and have any recommendations/warnings it's much appreciated. Still getting Ghost Rider tho.

Thats the thing about the MC figures, they're either really good, or really bad.

The IronSpider is good as individual figures (if not a bit plain) but the combination seems like an after thought.

I haven't owned all the figures at a $17 price point I tend to get more picky. For the most part though they do have a good bit of heft to them. Bigger then a Deluxe, just shy of a Voyager.

Anyhow, my rundown:

Spider-Man/Motorcycle- Crap, to much kibble and poorly articulated arms. Good body and legs and a sleek alt. I sold it off.

Venom- Total Win, getting the body right is a bit fickle, but otherwise it's a great robot, and the alt is pure awesome. Honestly it's one of my favorite figures

Wolverine- Nice solid figure, intricate transformation, but those claws are all types of weak. I do wanna trade up for the black & silver version

Captain America- Another nice solid figure. Kinda simple but he just looks heroic. I'm gonna get a second soon and the Roadbuster upgrade

Thor- After Universe Powerglide, the alt was a relief and a cry for everything that figure should have been. Then you get to the robot who if your lucky didn't crumble in your hands. Great concept, but a horrible exectution. Not worth spending money on, I sold him off

Iron-Spider combiner- The individual robots are decent, but nothing great, the combined modes make you wonder if they even wanted to put any effort into the gimmick. I'd sell them off, but the kid downstairs likes them cause they're Ironman and Spider-man so he can play with those and leave my good TFs alone.

I do look forward to the upcoming Ghost Rider. I also would like to try the Hulk/tank Grey Ironman, and Human Torch, Mybe one day if I find them cheap.

Ok thank so much Liege. Now I know to give the Venom/Carnage mold and Captain America a try. Thanks a bunch! :thumb Both the Hulk tank/dozer look really blocky to me. Im interested in them but Im too concerned that they suck. I wish Tformers did Crossovers reviews too.

Isnt the Captain America mold just a retool of the Wolverine one?

i like that more transforming toys are available, but as silly as superheroes and giant robots are, i dont feel like i can mix them together. im getting closer and closer to trying the marvel transformers out, and a good roadbuster would be great, and i think i might try and find one to do the conversion on, but i cant justify having a giant robotic venom fighting optimus prime just yet.

Personally, I much prefer motorcycle Spiderman over Venom. I don't like how the torso is formed on Venom, it just looks wrong, especially from the side.

If you want cool transforming superheroes, you should check the older Shape Shifters. Some of them are pretty clever.

The hulk dozer is crap.

The hulk tank is potentially the best out of the MC imo. The tank is big and powerful, with an interesting mix of WWII era looks and a high-tech laser cannon barrel. Transformation is pretty straight forward, but the details are what make it interesting. The treads very convincingly turn into arms and he actually has a panel that needs to be flipped out to give him toes! The head looks pretty bad; less like hulk and more like a robo-frankenstein. I like how he has a full set of articulation, even going so far as including swivels on his ankles for more stable posing.

Definitely recommend tank hulk without hesitation.

I turned my Hulk tank into a Megatron figure and absolutely love the thing! It's got a cool transformation and is quite posable

I want em all but finding the bloomin things in the UK is a nightmare..

I only have a few of these guys and I wasn't really impressed...

Venom-great alt mode, kinda iffy robot mode. The car mode looks really cool

and is the definate high point of this figure. Like FTcsap mentioned above, the

torso looks odd and is pretty displeasing when looking at it from the side.

Black Spidey Bike— horrible figure. I was really disappointed with this one.

Bike is ok and the black really looks better than the red & Blue. In bot

mode the lack of articulation hurts the figure and some of the bike parts

don't peg well on mine. Least liked of the three.

War Machine Iron Man (jet)—best figure IMO that I have of this line.

Vehicle mode, while a made up jet, doesn't look too bad but the

oversized missiles kind of ruin the aesthetics of the figure for me.

Bot mode is pretty decent. Transforming this one is more fun than

the other two IMO.

Personally, I actually prefer the Star Wars TF figures over the Marvel ones.

The Star Wars TF figures have come a long way from when they were first

released. Plus I used to collect the Action Fleet mini SW ships so this line is

like an updated version of Action Fleet ships to me.

-Captain America and Wolverine are 2 very different figures.

-Like I said I'm looking to trade up on Wolverine for the repaint, if intrested let me know. The claws suck but otherwise it's a good figure.
