Transformers Rituals

yeah, the display case and the few regular figures on display are my trial for guests.

Some look around and wanna play, others just wanna leave.

True i've picked up moms in the isle, but my collection is for me. I'm well aware of it's potential as girl repelant, and take that caution acordingly.

There are people who have been here many many times, and have no idea whats behind the blue curtain let alone the fact that there is a blue curtain.

hilarious.......new B-movie horror title......IT CAME FROM BEHIND THE BLUE CURTAIN...... I generally keep it under wraps but when i throw parties the TF collection always comes up in conversation and my buds try to use it as ammo against me to make themselves look better but 95% of the time it backfires and the ladies find it fun. Ya just gotta have fun with it and if you can roll with the punches and don't be shy about it like it's herpes or some shit people just see it as a fun quirky hobby that in reality, EVERYBODY has, unless your a stuck up-taking life too seriously douchebag who has no imagination or a sense of huymour. It makes for fun conversation too. you'd be surprised when people let their guard down how they'll divulge their guilty pleasures. I had this gorgeous blonde girl over the other nite and when she saw my TF collection she gave me the universal greeting!! Can ya believe that??!!My jaw dropped. Her and i had a blast.

I've never had a girl dislike my collection or the fact that I had it. They all saw it as a turn-on. I think it had something to do with viewing it as an indication of a playful or fun component to personality.

But that's just a guess. It's never affected me negatively where it matters...if ya know what I'm sayin'. :cjdance

when I buy transformers I show them to my cat to see if she likes them also . the only figure that I have that she doesnt like is animated leader class copter Megs she likes all the rest of my figures

like herpes???

Thats a new one

I don't feel bad or strange about my collecting. I just understand it's not for everyone and may get in the way of me potentialy getting herpes when I bring someone home...

My family and 1 friend try to make me feel bad about my collecting. It's a family thing, they don't really care, they'rejust trying to build themselves up while putting someone else down.

I just bring up their stuff, like how much paintings of victorian babies suck all over my sisters house, or my brothers shrines to peyton manning. I don't care if they are antique, theyre ugly. I also don't care how good a guy can throw a ball, you shouldn't have a portrait of him over your bed!!!

I used to put new TF's on the nightstand next to my bed for a day or so when I first got them...I guess that carried over from when I was little. I haven't done that for a while...I guess if I did it now my kid (almost 2 years old) would just destroy it.

yeah....my 5yr old nephew somehow gets ahold of certain TFs...and he always goes for the same ones(odd)...and proceeds with dismantling them...

when my nephews where little, my nephes hated me cause I had everything up on shelves and no matter how much they wanted to, they knew I'd snap their fingers off if they even thought of doing more then looking!

I still have the white box of crap toys that maybe they can touch.

Most are grown now, and when they tell me they use to hate me for that. I take the figures out and tell them that if I let them touch them, I wouldn't still have them.

These kids are coming into there own now, and you can see how the cruel tutiledge worked as they take care of their own stuff very well.

i have 3 nephews....the 5yr old seems to be the only one who is interested in them...lately ive started getting him his own...i just get annoyed with the whole "transform this...and then 15 seconds later transform it back...and so on and so on over and over again" thing....geez...

Yeah, did the same thing with my nephews. It's actually one of the things that made me start collecting again.

Several things led me to start collecting, but buying my nephews figs and keeping them on my shelves while they weren't being played with is essentially what began the whole thing for me.

They weren't always happy, cuz there were times they wanted to play with them but I didn't feel like dragging them all down. My older nephew can thank me for still having a complete unbroken Unicron!

Now that my oldest nephew is almost 20, he still has a raging TF habit and he does take pretty good care of them. The younger one however, fell off the bandwagon a while back which I'm sure his mother is eternally grateful for.

Though I must admit, she has been slipping. As much as she HATES and complains about TF's I do catch her being oddly curious about them at times. She never lets on to me, but I see it sometimes when she's talking to my nephew.

Deep down it seems those people who are the most adversarial about TF collecting habits seem to be those who envy it the most but somehow feel it's just not appropriate or are just worried that other people would think they were freaks or something if they didn't object.
