Megatron = A Prime?

you forgot Zeus and the Titans, but yeah, basicly Optimus = Moses with a Jesus ressurection added for flavor.

WTF?! Transformers have parents now?

-alternate dimension did it-

WTF?! Transformers have parents now?

Uuuuh Yeah. Quite a few of them do in various continuities. It's specifically stated too. In RoptF, Jetfire specifically talks about his parents. "I have issues of my own! It all started with my mother. My ancestors have been here for centuries. My father, well he was a wheel. He was the first Wheel. And do you know what he transformed into? Nothing! But he did so with honor! Dignity, damn it!" Jetfire had parents.

In Victory #10, the Japanese manga version of that particular G1 series, we meet the wife of Deathsaurus, sister of Leozak, and the many many children of all of the Decepticons. In the children's book, The Story of Wheelie, the Wild Boy of Quintesson, Wheelie's mother and father died in the crash that left Wheelie stranded on Quintessa leaving him an orphan. So yes, Transformers do have families. These are just three examples.

Zues wasn't hidden away to grow up raised by others with no knowledge of his lineage. In his case, His mother switched him out for a stone to feed Chronos causing Chronos to regurgitate Zues' brothers and sisters and then they all collectively rebelled and slew Chronos.

Do they explain how Transformers are reproduced without the Matrix/Allspark/Vector Sigma?

Do they explain how Transformers are reproduced without the Matrix/Allspark/Vector Sigma?

Explicitly? No. But think about this. They do have a form of DNA analog and self-replicating nano-machine cells that make up their bodies. They're male and female, fall in love, marry and are shown and stated to have families(husbands, wives, mothers fathers, brothers, sisters aunts uncles, etc). RotF also shows Decepticon hatchlings hatching from egg sacks. But rather than dredging that debate up again, I'll let you put the pieces of the puzzle together and you can draw your own conclusions as to what that implies.

But yes, according to RotF, the 2007 movie, DS game for said movie and their adaptations, as well a several other sources form various TF continuities, Transformers do have families.

I always figured Transformers where manufactured and start off as drones. as the drones became experienced, they developed individuality.

As Cybertroinian civilization developed, the new manufactured drones were gathered in a tribe like structure, with an "elder" type figure as the head of the group guiding the new bots in a school like structure as things developed further. A good example of this on my shelves are Energon Scorponock and the Terrorcons. He acts as their care taker.

I also think that on occassion, with sacrafice, a Transformer can be spawned. Think Tigerhawk. Or components of bots can be shared to create a new bot. Thats how I explain having multiple molds of the same figure on my shelves. I call it spark share. Then there also random events. For me most of the movie figures are bots created from the essence of other bots who where intrical when Primus was awoken (yes the movie line is a direct aftermath continuation of Cybertron)

Now, just as a disclamer, I don't pay attention to what the fictions say anymore about this(or anything else for that matter), this is just what works for me. If I'm right or I'm wrong, some book sayes otherwise, I don't care. This is just what works for me.

Prime and Megatron being brothers was an early concept in the movie story that was seemingly abandoned. They wrote off the references to it by saying they were brothers in arms, or something like that, not LITERAL brothers.

Even if it were true, who says all children of a Prime are themselves Primes? In the IDW movie comic book Optimus Prime used to be called Optimus, until they discovered that a symbol on the side of his head was identical to a symbol on an ancient artifact of the Primes. After that they started calling him Optimus Prime. Megatron bears no such symbol.

Yes, it was mentioned that they were brothers in the movie, though Orci left it up to interpretation what that meant, it was included in the DS game (and a few other sources) stating that Megatron had murdered their father and ate his Spark, thus establishing them literally as brothers, hence the confusion among some fans regarding RotF. So it wasn't completely abandoned, just glossed over in the movie. The problem with saying Prime's and Megatron's father was a Prime is that the RotF adaptions specifically state that Optimus was orphaned, hidden away from The Fallen to protect him from this purge, and had no knowledge of his true lineage. This leads me to conclude that Megatron's father had taken Optimus in and raised him as his own son and thus the brother of Megatron in a very literal sense. This is very similar to the biblical story of Moses, as well as similar examples in a variety of ancient myths.

Please show your sources for this, not cuz i want you to be wrong, im just curious to learn more. Although i would have to argue that ROTF says nothing about Prime & Megatron being "brothers". In movie 1, Prime calls Megatron "brother" but i took it as a brother of race. Show me differently, im always interested in learning more about th franchise. (been researching since i was kid, more so when i was old enough to understand certain things.

The Autobots version of the Nintendo DS game for the 2007 movie specifically states that Megatron murdered his and Optimus' father and then ate his spark. His cannibalistic tendencies are also further explored in the novelization of the first movie which states he chowed down on Jazz as well, and in the Decepticon version of the DS game where he also ate the sparks of Starscream and "Create-a-bot". To quote the trivia section of his TF Wiki page: "Similarly, in the Autobots version of the same DS game, it is noted that Megatron "took the spark" of his and Optimus' father. Presumably, this is a reference to both his cannibalistic practises as well as the fact that both he and Prime are in fact brothers, at least in the Cybertronian sense."—Megatron Thus it is the Autobots version of the DS game for the first movie which specifically establishes Optimus and Megatron as having the same father and thus literally brothers.

Yep. That's the scene.
