Eh to each his own, IMO its a pretty neat set, not the greatest Universe Ultra but not the worst

They're both pretty nice. Space Case's paint scheme is WAY better than his G2 incarnation, but Soundwave looks like he was abused by a painter on acid.

 

(really, now.. purple and grey with neon yellow highlighting? *makes a shopping list for the hobby shop*)

Paint-jobs aside, they're great figures. I still don't know why people call him a "communications truck" when he's clearly a missile-transport with a comms dish..?

I like both of them. This is one of the great parts about Universe. I didn't get the chance to own either of these molds the first time around.

the molds are both really cool. Space case was blessed with a much better paintjob this time around while soundwave got the shaft.

i would reccommend just getting the Machine Wars Soundwave because it's a cool paintjob.

Unfortunately I now own this set. Soundwave is just as much a brick as all the G1 figures that people complain about except that he's a low-quality brick. The G2 figs have a distinct lack of quality to the designs and to the plastic generally used for the toys themselves.

 

I won't even get into his paintjob...

 

Definitely time for a custom repaint.

Picked up Soundwave and SpaceCase over the weekend, and yes Soundwave is a Brick, he is G2 so of course he is a brick, he has no more articulation the King Atlas, but he is a cool mold. I like the colors, they dont bother me, and my gf even loved Spacecase so much that I let her have him. Got the other two cyber jets today at Walmart. But he is worth the money, because you wont find him in as good condition on ebay unless it is from an unopened box and you will pay more then 20 bucks for it.

 

Buy it if you want, repaint it if you dont like the colors, and understand that Soundwave is a brick and Spacecase has all the articulation.
