contructicons - not going to release them all???

Recommended Posts

Q: With the release of 3 of the individually transformable Constructicons and Long Haul coming out next, will we see the remaining Constructicons (e.g., Scrapper, Hightower) released?

Hasbro: Unfortunately, there are no plans at this time to release any additional Constucticons past those that we have currently announced.

Damn Hasbro! :emo

So Hasbro isn't even going to release all the constructicons?? They are not even going to release all the characters in the movie????

WTF????

I have to say, I was going to buy the devestator ($100) even tho the thing is overpriced and rather hideous. I was buying the individual constructicons - despite not combining - to display with devestator. I absolutely love the original constructicons -- and actually have 3 of them - so I can display them individually in both modes AND the mighty Devestator. With this news - i'm thinking about RETURNING the ones I have bought (all still unopened until I got them all), and just forget about devestator altogether. Seriously, does Hasbro have any sense at all anymore???

My affinity for the Constructicons set aside...what kind of business decision is this to only release some (granted a majority, but nonetheless, 'some') of the movie figures that were actually IN THE MOVIE...then release a slew of figures that were NOT IN THE MOVIE. Then announce that the remaining members of a team that was SEEN IN THE MOVIE, will NOT be released?! IMO, it seems like a guarantee of lost profit. :shrug

We at least saw Scrapper in the movie in more than one scene, and have even seen concept art for this character...Hasbro, at the very least, GIVE US A F'N SCRAPPER FIGURE!!! I'd love to have Hightower and Overload as well...but if we can't even get a Scrapper figure, there's no hope for the other two making it to production...

And again, I don't understand all that SDCC garbage...wtf?!?! Particularly when we've got unreleased movie characters! I have no ideas what these guys are doing...it's frustrating as hell. :argh

totally agree with you. :tfevil hasbro is really "We Todd Ed"

DO IT. The only way we can get a reaction from those bean counting jerks is to hit the thing they care about the most: Their Wallets.

I think I'll even send them a letter of dissaproval, just so they can't say we didn't warn em.

I dont think a bunch of old dudes not buying Devs is gonna hurt Hasbro's wallet. I think an under-engineered overpriced supreme class toy thats warming shelves will.

But I agree, I was really hoping to see Scrapper. Overload kind of looked interesting but I could do without him and Hightower.

They could at least retool Rampage for Scrapper. Like GIVE HIM SOME FRIGGIN LEGS!! RAAAAHHH!! I HATE FUCKIN RAMPAGE!!

^ Aaaa, I don't hate Rampage...but I realize he's not for everyone. Retooling Rampage into a Scrapper figure did cross my mind...but I'd rather they give us a completely new mold for Scrapper!

For years I've been trying to figure out the design team for Hasbro...and for the life of me, I just don't understand their decision making. Regardless of what you think (or what I've voiced) about the movie, they surpassed the previous film with viable numbers of characters to support a full line. But what do they do when it comes to the toy line? They release enough of them to justify the base ideas, then they start pulling outta their asses with the rest, instead of creating a full reasonable line of continuity with this series. :doh

Yeah its really hard to peg them down ain't it? I'm sure there are quite a few individuals responsible (probably a few groups) with determining what characters to produce as toys. But yeah it seems like complete idiocy not to capitalize on at least Scrapper, whose robot mode had screen time, in one of the highest grossing films of all time, which also has one of the longest running best selling merchandising tie ins of all time.

And besides how do you not want to make a toy of this awesomeness? :

I blame the "NO LEGS" issue more on Bay and the developers. I mean, did the movie makers not have a intermediator wih the toy company at all??? Did they not realize there would be toys made??? Wheels as legs is just STUPID, imho. I also hate the design on the motorcycles as well.

But not releasing all the characters in the movie.. especially as one of the "big character names" like devestator - just takes the cake of business stupidity.

Wheels as legs? You mean Demolishor and Scavenger. Rampage had nothing as legs. He was a whippy cobra-tailed thing. COOOOOBRA-LALALALALA!!!
