Megatron's Next Ultimate Weapon of Doom

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty surprised that I seem to be the only one who's realized that the whole Solar Harvester plotline was a rehash of Megatron's Solar Needle from the G1 cartoons. Now given that they're not above rehashing G1 plotlines, which of G1 Megatron's super-silly Ultimate Weapons/Energon Harvesting methods would you like to see rehashed into the next installment?

Man... I'm at a loss... all I can think (off the top of my head) of is that solar energy "doohickey" that the constructicons stole and used to super power Megatron that time, but that's only because the internet fan-toon "Megatron's True Motivation" had a weird life altering effect on me...

The only other thing I can remember is that time that Red Alert went crazy; with that big tank lookin' thing? I LOVED that part when Megatron go knocked out of the tank by ramjet and said: "I've got MORONS on my team!"

THAT is one of my all time favorite quotes...

But I don't suppose I see either of those really making a good movie... :shrug

I just want to see Brawn finally make it into the series, scoop up Meg's cannon due to whatever situation and then get knocked on his ass when he fires it. That is my fondest memory of G1. I still LOL when I watch it.

Megatron and Starscream find some Giant scarablike statue that has Ultimate Power and use it on Earths forces, only to find out he has cosmic rust. Ratchet is brought in to create Corrostop to prevent Megaton from rusting away and guarantee the continuation of the franchise where Megatron returns to Earth with the key to Vector Sigma.....

beat me to it.

Eh, how about either a Transfixatron, some KREMZEEKs, or that 3 piece gravity thing that brought Cybertron to Earth.

Well, I've preached before that I want the next one to deal with sideline sitters and non-faction transformers, and the race to recruit them (Dinobots, Lockdown, and I know I am beating this to deaht, but DOUBLEDEALER!).

But if I had to pick a new MacGuffin...uh...the hate plague. Autobot against Autobot, and Optimus and Megs must team up together to fight the combined forces.

I'd be down with that one! That made just about as much sense as ROTF's Solar Harvester!

Personally I'd like too see the majority of the next movie take place on Cybertron, maybe set up a Unicron trilogy. (if it makes enough money to sustain a Transformers 4, 5 and 6) Then have Megs throw Cybertron at Earth as his WOMD at the second half of the movie. =P

Nice suggestions, all! Special mention to Bisons Fan for actually stringing up a plot using Cosmic Rust and the Key to Vector Sigma!

Although for straight rehashes, IMO space bridging Cybertron to Earth seems like a logical choice: it's already an hour and a half long story arc, and they've already established space bridges into the movie mythos. All they gotta do is just replace the zombified construction workers with the military and/or sexy babes, add more explosions, and voila!

But I would love to see the hate plague. And drilling into the earth's core. and dare I say it, Autobot Spike.

Well give the movie credit for its redirection. Its going back to the crux of the original series being a metaphor for energy research in powering our machines.
