Review: ROTF Voyager Megatron Figure

Recommended Posts

That's it, I will get voyager class Megatron. I guess the back kibble is no worse than the wings on Classics Megatron. It's probably better because this back kibble looks smaller.

It's really a shame we can't seem to get a Leader Class Megatron as good as his corrosponding Prime counterpart.

Voyager Megs has better colors, better articulation and at least his head is somewhat hidden behind his cowcatcher in tank mode. What is with Hasbro having Meg's head just stick out of his alt mode? Is the whole 'in disguise' concept not registering for some reason?

I took back my Leader Megatron in 07 because the figure wouldn't peg together and half the automorph didn't work. Coupled with the fact his alt mode wasn't much better than what we're getting for The Fallen, I don't miss not having him at all. Revenge Leader Megs is probably going to suffer the same fate.

I hate not having leader class Megs to display with Optimus, but when they're 45-50.00 each and not as good as their cheaper counterparts I can live with the better (if smaller) figures and another 30.00 in my pocket.

To be fair, his CG design has the head exposed.

the detail is so much better and the [proportions are perfect the arm size seems right on the voyager compared the the puny leader classes...I'm personally gonna get this one I can only wish that it was a triple changer like in the film oh well I think that's a near impossible feat due to the complexity of the movies designs... just wish they made the jet voyager megatron with out those terrible ice wings...

or id the people that make the custom parts make replacement wings I would love to see that.

perfect proportions? that's a joke right? maybe the arms are better.. but i don't recall megatron having thunder-thighs in the movie.

i personally think the leader figure is better, the legs are more accurate, the back is more accurate, the color is more accurate, (except for the arms) the proportions are more accurate, the tank mode is more accurate, he's more in scale to the rest of the figures, he looks bad ass, and his tank mode is far more accurate.

this voyager figure could've been better if there was no missile in his puny arm, the backpack is completely unnecessary, if they would've made his tank mode more accurate there would've been far less kibble. the only good things about the figure are the arms (except for the left arm with the missile like i said before) and the head. other than that i'd rather spend the extra $22 for a far more accurate figure.

To be fair, his CG design has the head exposed.

finally someone said it

i really wish that hasbro can get the leader megatron together for the 3rd movie. I feel bad buying all these primes with no one to stand toe to toe with him.

Can someone do me a big favor and post a picture of the Voyager Prime standing next to Voyager Megs for a size comparison and link it here to the thread? I've been curious about that for ages.

Would be cool if it was in movie accurate colors. Why are all pictures of this guy he has the red missile displayed. Can we see some pics where the projectiles are not loaded?

Also, am I the only one here who actually liked Leader Megatron from the first film? Yeah his feet were visible in alt mode, and he had those "pods" on his arms, but he was a great figure with great pose-ability and matched up perfectly when displayed with Leader Prime. For whatever reason, I have not warmed up to ROTF Megatron's tank mode because it just looks like something out of Metal Slug:

The voyager tank look a little better, but those wings on there look ridiculous. Oh well, I guess I am sticking to my pledge to not buy anything from the movie this time around....(although I am tempted by the Human Alliance figures)

I totally disagree about this one being better than Leader class. So it has slightly better arms thanks to one elbow joint. His movie accuracy is way off on this version and he looks green. Also the mega wings backpack seriously throws off his look. Take a look at the CGI render of ROTF Megatron next to the leader class toy and tell me it's not way closer to accurate- http://unicron9.deviantart.com/art/ROTF-2n...ustom-126157163 . Yeah I know I painted mine but the mold details are my point. The voyager version looks like a nice one to buy for the differences, and it looks neat but Leader class is the real ROTF Megatron IMO.

Very nice! i have to say though that many people didn't believe this to be as accurate a mold detail because of the coloring. Your coloring really brought out those details quite beautifully.

Now, if Hasbro could add an elbow joint and give him the Premium paint treatment with greater accuracy like you did I'd get this one. I'm rather torn on the Voyager class though because of the blue paint...I still like it though.

That custom looks amazing. But still falters in playability just as much as it would without the nice paint.

The fact of the matter is that the toy is shit without full articulation. And I refuse to call him a better Megatron than the Voyager until his right elbow bends!

I'm still a fan of the first one. I wish his neck worked though. And his elbows didnt have the nicest range of motion. Still, they had a BIGGER range of motion than this toy's sad excuse of a right arm

And I still don't like how shrimpy and goofy his left arm is either. It's not that teeny on the CGI model!
