Paramount Pictures may not like this figure, but rivals to the studio are expecting that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen may gross somewhere as high as $175 Million through the five-day weekend, according to Deadline Hollywood. While not naming any specific sources, the site claims that it has been told the film came in tracking "huge" for the June 24 to June 28 timeframe.

well im going to see it like three times , so yea i could see that :)

And Hasbro cant make us an Animated Omega Supreme? For shame! lol.

I can wait till the theaters start to empty out. More leg room for me. The Navy base down here is having a free sneak peak a week before the movie opens and Im not going. You know why? The place is gonna be PACKED with hundreds of screaming kids. If Watchmen is rated R and its free sneak peak was packed, then the place will explode over ROTF.

Five day weekend? WTF is a five day week end? I thought the name for those was, I don't know, A WEEK.

Just wait.

"Transformers 3 predicts 300 mil in it's first 32 day weekend..."

this number sounds pretty low. A 3 day weekend would make sence but in a 5 day period? Transformers 2007 made about 70 million on opening 3 day weekend which evens out to be about 23 million a day. Here the projected jump is about only 35 million a day based on a 5 day weeked total of 175 million?

That pretty pessimistic.

:lol

Yeah, this one's definately just old fashion hollywood bullshit number wiggling. The movie's opening on a Wednesday instead of the ususal Friday open for a big movie, so they're claiming that wed/thur/fri/sat/sun period as "opening weekend". :roll

It's a good way to make the numbers bigger than they are so they can claim it breaks records. As for the actual predicted number being lowish, my best guess is that they don't want to get their own hopes too high with the economy the way it is, i'd suspect all the movie takes will be lower this year. Hopefully we'll both be proven wrong though, and it'll be a super blockbuster the way the first one was, ensuring a third movie and more toys. :tflaugh

cool but that would be sweet if it hit like 200 million or more

:rofl :lol

Yeah, it's a little bit bizarre. It's a bit of swag number, most definitely. Transformers 1 made about $152.5 Million in its first week, from the Monday night previews to Sunday, so $160 to $175 is on-par with that pricepoint, but I agree it is pretty low.

The first movie was definitely a surprise, so I would imagine that the film would at least be on-par with that.
