i don't have the transformers DVD's, but i THINK i recall in one episode, ratchet actually had an autobot place into his cargo (first aid) area?

 

if so, that means there are no typical 2nd and 3rd row seats!!! so you can delete those from the ratchet concepts!

 

instead, i think there should be a FLAT BED... basically replace the transfomration of the seats so that in VAN mode, there's a FLAT floor...

 

now for GUN idea... i'm not sure what was INSIDE G1 ratchet... some first-aid computer system? my creativity is going to stop here... maybe something that will help anaylize or stabilize an injured autobot... THAT piece of machinery can transform to become his weapon then!!!

 

electromagnetic beam? maybe this beam can help maintain the spark in severly injured autobots? BLAHHHHHHh i don't know about TF's to really go from here... hahaha

Your're right. Ironhide took a hit and was placed inside Rachet's vehicle mode, the same way an injured human would be placed in an ambulance. (Never mind that this would have to make Rachet 2-3 times larger than a normal ambulance, but with G1, "size matters not".)

 

So for an Alt. Rachet, his 2nd and 3rd row seats would have to be replaced with medical equipment and room for a stretcher and a few paramedics.

Cool your jets guys! Trust in the NATO to deliver. All of that's already been worked into the Ratchet design (Type V are you a mind-reader or something?). In sled mode Ratchet will be a medical transport with medical scanners and diagnostic displys, not a heavy attack unit like Ironhide. I've already worked it all out in the design, but don't releay have anything to show yet. I kinda' burnt myself out with all those high detailed drawings all at once, but I should have some more pics for you in a day or two!

sorry NATO, hehehe... no i'm not a mind reader, but i'm just SUCH a passionate fan of the G1 era... i'm sad to say i'm spending $ to collect my much beloved ancient Gundam on DVD's first... then i'll spend on the TF's collection :)

i'm only familiar with the season1/2 characters... after the movie, I never really caught season 3/4 in my parts of the country... i was saddened when i found out it wasn't shown AFTER SCHOOL!!! :(

 

we really need a mirage and wheeljack, megatron as MP2, soundwave, starscream.

 

i can only think of a tractor for perceptor tho. :)

M.S.D. (mobile Seeker Defense) mode

 

The MSD mode is designed for optimal mobile defense against air attacks. In MSD mode the wider wheelbase and extra weight of the added bot makes it possible to fire the ion cannon at full strength while in movement. Though slower in this mode than in regular van mode IH and his gunner are able to lay suppressive fire during an e-vac or make aggressive attack maneuvers with the Ion cannon.
