Now for the critcism :D,

I think the biggest problem I see is the scale issue with other BT/Alts, not in the issue of big car/small car, but in the overall proportion in relation with others. Going by the head, chest, and wheels, Ironhide would be huge next to the other. Compounded with the bigger car/van choice, IMHO, it won't stand all that next to other bots.....assuming this BT Ironhide is made into a real toy....:D

I dont have a problem with Ironhide being taller than the other BT?ATs in fact I want it. They are friggen robots at war for crying out loud! it would be advantageous for either groups of transformers to have bigger stronger bots. Look at energon. The Autobots have to Powerlinx to be more powerful than the already big Decepticons like Megs, Scorponok, Tidalwave, Shockblast, Mirage and Dreadwing. Not to mention that Even humans come in different shapes and sizes.

 

In closing I just think that as long as Ironhide's Alt mode is a 1:24 scale licenced vehicle made with the same quality as the others, his robot height shouldn't matter.

Alt Sideswipe is taller than Smokescreen. I'd hope that Ironhide is taller and bigger than, say, Jazz, or others.

how do the doors switch sides? Even if they dont make this sketch into a toy I'm happy just to see it done. now I can have a beeter image of what a Truck/van would look like transformed.

Again it's a crap sketch on wrinkled paper, but think of it as an arm of BT Sideswipe with and extra joint. Step 1 is how it's folded in van form (arms under the hood), step 2 is Sideswipe's finished arm, and then with our extra joint the weel is turned back over itself and we see step 3. After step three the door lowers tward the back of the fig. and walla!

Just a thought, but i think Rachet should not be as buff in robot mode as ironhide... maybe subtract a little mass from the arms, legs, etc... and give him less of a grimace.

I agree 100%. Using Alt Smokey/Silverstreak and hound as reference, the head is too big on Ironhide. From what I know, the Safari is not very much wider than the subaru and wrangler.
