New Views of ROTF Voyager Long Haul in Robot Mode

Recommended Posts

I know he's in the trailer (underwater through mud, muck, etc). Maybe I need to dig out the still and look at it. I don't really feel like we've seen the final movie bot clearly enough yet to be able to say if Hasbro has followed through or dropped the ball (but I really should find that still again before i say that).

No he doesn't match the rough version we saw a while back, but chances are that's not what's in the movie either.

nope, cgi looks pretty spot on to the concept

His upper body matches both pretty well for what it is, but the legs lack that beautiful bulk

Honestly, he's not as bulky all over (it's not just in the legs)...but as I've stated before (in another thread), none of the toys have ever matched the CGI exact. I think it'll make a lot of difference once we start to see some posed shots...

me no likly, me :love and diffinite buy for me because i now he is gonna be in the movie from the trailer

Skinniness aside I actually really like him. He has some amazing details. Arm possibility is a concern. As far as I can tell he can't rotate his wrists. The upper swivel looks like it will allow him to bend his arms upward. The hydraulics for the the bed is nice. I'm definitely going to pick him up.

The fact that he's skinny doesn't really bother me all that much. Look what they did to Jazz. He was relatively small in size for the movie. Yet for the toy they made him old chunky butt.

Thanks for the awesome update!

This mold is my favorite Movie Constructicon, yet... I might buy this one...

Nice metallic blue paint apps, too. Sparce, but nice...

Head could use some black inside the mouth, though...

Quick question:

The articulation looks very nice. hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, swivels, etc...

But look on the backs of his forearms. The dumptruck panels are HUGE!

How does he swivel his arms?

I'm hoping the panels are NOT hinged in there with a pin. I hate pins...

Anyone notice this and have a solution?

If the panels can come off, I would just attach them to the massive backpack...

^They swivel at the upper portion of the arm or at least look like they do. It's the upper part right under the shoulder where the arm meets the body. You can see it better if you up the pic size to 1200x800. Just flip the bed so it's on the side of his arm instead of on the back. Then you just swivel the arm and bend it upwards.

or

You could say screw it take the bed off of his arms and make your own shield thing with it.

Longhaul's the first Movie Constructicon 'proper' Transformer toy that I actually like the look of.

My original plan had been to been to buy the large Supreme 'Megazord-style' Devastator and surround him with smaller Deluxe and Voyager 'minions'. But so far the three previously revealed Constructicons haven't particularly impressed me enough to consider buying them.

I think I'll wait to see how the remaining Constructicons look and buy the two or three I like best .

I'll probably add the Decepticon Scout Dirt Boss to the group as the leader (Devastator is the muscle).

Well after looking at the image from the trailer, and the concept image, the toy does look pretty accurate, aside from the "skinny" thing and the Blue axle. Just somehow the huge arm kibble chunks bug me more on the toy than they do in the images. Maybe enough work with a dremmel tool and some pain can fix that though. When these ROTF figs hit the shelves, I'll be painting for months. BTW, new TF custom work to view on my deviant page. Link below.

I like him. Im betting his wheels on top of his shoulders fold down along with the bar. Still, the FAB version looks more appealing.

How is that a spoiler? Like the Animated Dirt Boss. Im going to try to turn the ROTF Dirt Boss into the Animated version.

Im betting the ROTF Dirtboss is Hasbro's way of releasing the Animated one in a sense. Even know this one has a head and the chest IS the head in Animated. Thats why kitbashing rules ;)

Looks pretty neat

But he doesnt combine?

PASS!!!!
